"I want to preface this review by saying pork sinigang is one of my absolute favorite dishes from any genre of cuisine. I?ve eaten it up and down the East coast at restaurants, canteens, and aunties? houses. In the Philippines nearly every place I wentI got a bowl of sinigang na baboy. I make it at home myself on the regular. Not once have I ever seen a sinigang broth thisdark before. After I got over my initial moment of shock I was excited to be trying something new. It looked like I could be infor the most insane sour unami bomb broth ever. After my first spoonful... confusion. It didn?t taste like much of anything. Itwasn?t even remotely sour. But strangest of all was that the most dominant flavor I could taste was adobo. Was the darkness ofthe broth just from soy sauce? The meat was delicious, fatty and soft, and I really appreciated the long beans as nearly everyrestaurant I?ve been to in the US uses regular green beans instead. I could see myself maybe enjoying eating this dish if I hadordered an adobo ish braised pork stew but just not as the sinigang I was expecting. I?m giving 4 stars because I lovesupporting small businesses and I want to extend my benefit of the doubt this was my first visit and maybe this was simply aone off sinigang snafu. The pork empanadas were absolutely scrumptious. I would tentatively come back and try other dishes onthe menu. There?s also no dine in service available at the moment despite what Google says."

We had an excellent experience at Karenderya! The food was very good, no bad dishes. Our favorite was the shrimp adobo very tasty and flavorful. We ordered a few dishes: the PEI mussels and steamed whole branzino which were both specials of the day, shrimp adobo, pansit bihon with chicken, and pork rib sinigang. We also had the red horse beer and a kalamansi drink with basil seeds both nice drinks. I really liked the beer, it was very smooth and went down easy. Friendly service and chill vibe. Reasonable prices. Overall, a pleasant and very satisfying meal! Clean, pronounced flavors. The shrimp adobo is a must order! Wish I lived in the area so I could frequent this place! Bonus, they have g...

"I live in Nanuet and usually go to the Nanuet diner which I've always felt the people at the Nanuet diner are always courteous and very friendly. We decided to have a family lunch on Sunday, 3/27/22. We had family coming from Woodbury Commons and Westchester so we choose the Orangetown Diner as a central place for a Sunday get together. The Orangetown Diner has a good system for texting you when your table is ready and had nice keyboard entertainer for live soft music which was a nice touch at a diner. We had mixed reviews on the food as half our party liked their meal and the other half disliked what was served. Our biggest disappointment was with the way we were treated. There was no effort for good customer service and our waiter wasn't interested in using common courtesy for our table. We are a blue collar family, one of our party was a waitress for over 10 years and were always considerate, patient and understanding of how busy waiters are and how hard their job is in general, We were also raised to always say Thank You and use our manners with everyone. Asked for water for the table multiple times and it never came, asked for a second glass of soda and had to wait over 10 minutes to remind the waiter for the soda, no straws for the drinks after multiple requests for straws, ended up drinking the sodas directly from the glasses. My sister who was a waitress ordered a meal and requested a bagel instead of the bread it was made on, she explained how she wanted it 3 times and the waiter said they had bagels and it could be served with the bagel instead. The food came out in stages with 2 of the 5 meals coming out first, 10 minutes later the next 2 of the 5 came out but my sisters meal had not yet showed up. So while waiting for hers she insisted we start eating by the time her meal came out the rest of us were about 80% done. Then when her meal came out it had the original bread not the bagel she requested and to my surprise she responded to the waiter really, we went through this 3 times and he replied oh, I thought you meant a bagel on the side so my sister fully frustrated at this point said oh really, then where's the bagel on the side which he never brought out. All of these things are not the main reason for my low rating, it's mainly because of the lack of common courtesy from the staff. Like I said we always say Thank You and please but not one You're Welcome or is there anything else I can get for you? Just reaching across peoples faces to plop down plates and turning their backs to walk away from the table. On the way out I left a tip for the keyboard player, he was wonderful playing soft music with a smile on his face and a little laugh all the time we were there. Left a 20% tip for the waiter because I don't believe in taking out our bad experience on one person. When asked by the person behind the desk how was everything I gave them my honest opinion which I hope they shared with the Owner/Manager. Maybe it's a teaching moment on how important it is to be nice to people especially customer service where you show you value your customer. Disappointing customer service and appreciation. Spent over $100 for a family lunch and left with one of our party never getting their meal and the rest of us still waiting for water for the table..."
