"As for the food, it was just average. It’s possible I didn’t pick the right dish. We visited around lunchtime on a Sunday, and the specials mainly featured dinner options. However, since I was in the mood for breakfast, I chose a western omelette with American cheese. Unfortunately, the egg part of the omelette was very thin, reminiscent of a Denny's omelette, which was disappointing. Additionally, the meat was dry, and the only cheese included was a blend of shredded cheese on top. In terms of value, it was average. The prices are very reasonable, and I suspect if I had ordered one of the dinner specials, my experience would have been much more enjoyable."

My husband and I stopped by on our way through. It was such a cute place. The staff was friendly and the food was great. Reasonably priced. Would definitely go again!

Restaurant in a church with one waitress and like 40 people. Nobody there to greet us as we walked in, give us menus or drinks, or take our order. If you're from out of town you don't need to put up with this bullshizz.

A good find in a residential nabe. Ina converted church, this is a typically straight ahead diner , but with low prices, good food good waitstaff. Walleye dinner with 2 sides for $6.99 ! Homemade pies and a caring owner. Recommended... just off I 70 too. View menu

Driving through for the holidays. This is a perfect local restaurant that is family owned/operated. Food was awesome. Atmosphere is family oriented where people are not afraid to talk the people next to you. America needs more places like this to not only reinvest in their communities but also to help build communities. Support your local businesses that actually care about their customers

AAAbsolutely Loved it!! The wait staff was superb and kind enough to even suggest other places to me around the town to shop and visit. Was quiet and very warm, a place you want to spend time at. The food was well cooked and the owner talked as if we were friends and we knew each other. All in all Karlas is a GREAT place to have coffee and chat with friends over a greatly priced home cooked meal.

Thought this would be a great place to eat lunch. Service was par. Food was unsatisfactory. Chicken on salad seemed undercooked. Italian beef sandwich on special was actually a pot roast beef shredded into sandwich with no peppers or Au Jus. I'm sure they great other options on the menu. Just was underwhelmed by the experience. All for local businesses but they have some opportunities to improve. View menu

I absolutely love this charming diner! I stopped by again while traveling through Illinois on I-70 on my way to St. Louis. The turkey burger and sweet potato fries were delicious. Karla and her husband Mark came over to say hello, and they even made me a pot of coffee that I could take on the road. They also have a fantastic breakfast menu. I'm definitely planning to stop by on my way back to grab an omelet!

When our meals arrived, they were piping hot, which I appreciate. The turkey was genuine turkey, not the usual deli meat you find elsewhere, and I suspect it was a unique type of sauerkraut, as it tasted quite different from any other turkey Reuben I've had before. It was just okay. The fries were abundant, more like steak fries, and while they were good, they weren't particularly memorable. Overall, it was decent food at a fair price.
