This is our go to spot on our way to OBX. EVERYYHING IS AMAZING! The fried chicken, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and corn bread were the best!

The woman that took our order was friendly, informative and welcoming. The food was AMAZING. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely be back.

This is real food, made by real people! Everything was tasty. I was able to taste the roast beef. It was full of flavor, fork-tender and a nice, healthy serving. The macaroni and cheese, green beans, and cabbage was a nice addition! All tasted better than home (and that is saying a lot from parents who cook from scratch with soul and flavor). Highly recommend.

What a great surprise! My family really enjoyed the food here. We ordered Catfish, butterfly shrimp, crab cakes, trout and scallops. We loved them all! Especially the crab cakes! We definitely will be coming back to order other things on the menu! (Gizzards! EDIT we came back and tried the Gizzards! Did not disappoint! The CORNBREAD is also a big hit! Definitely will come back for more Cornbread next time.

Really good food. Was like home cooking. Main courses were excellent and the sides were all home made NOT Sysco stuff out of a box or can. I got Hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and it was cooked perfectly and the gravy was very good and tasted home made. Wife got liver and onions with cabbage and mac cheese and she said it was near perfect and the sides were home made and very good. Was my first time here but will be back for sure. We have been here before although it was more than 5 years ago. It was very good back then. We ordered a few of the specials chicken and dumplings and pulled pork. The chicken in the dumplings was white meat chicken chunks and it was very dry and hard to chew, kind of like when you have a tough piece of steak . The pulled pork was okay but also a bit tough. My husband and I spent 46.00 dollars with a 15 percent tip included. Needless to say we will not be back lesson learned here. Also it was pretty crowded and we had to wait a long time for our food it would have still been okay if it was worth the long wait.

Amazing ? great home cooked food! Kendall is the sweetest soul I've ever met! Amber the waitress was amazing! She was the only one there waiting tables it was busy! The check out guy needs a little prep for smoothness for the whole business! He could have helped amber seeing she was so busy! He also needs to recommend and upselll to customers that ask too many questions! Sell it bro even if ya ain't tried it say ya have if it's a great seller. Know this business it's Kendalls baby! My fried chicken livers were incredibly good, and the mashed potatoes, greens, and cornbread were awesome as well. I was really impressed with how our server managed everything, especially being short-staffed. Due to the limited menu options, we even received free desserts, which were delightful! My boyfriend ordered the hamburger steak meal and said it was tasty, and I should mention that they serve spinach here, which I've never seen at a soul food restaurant before. For those who don’t eat pork, it's great to know that their greens aren't seasoned with pork. Overall, I would give this place a 9 out of 10.
