"My party was seated promptly at the restaurant. Our server was fantastic, providing detailed descriptions of menu items we had questions about. Despite arriving close to closing time, our food was freshly prepared and served within an hour. The service remained excellent even though we lingered slightly past closing time."

"We ordered the Candied Yam for our team at Crowe Horwath during tax season, as we're always on the lookout for exciting catering options. This place definitely delivered! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was outstanding. One of my colleagues remarked that it was one of the best meals I’d had in a long time. The fried chicken was amazing, and the sweet potato corn muffins were unmatched. The mac and cheese and the candied yams were also exceptional. With beans and greens that delicious, I might just consider going vegetarian! Thank you for a fantastic meal; we will definitely be calling you again to try more of your amazing food!"

"TLDR: one of my fave places for sushi, although I don’t get out to the area that much but I would definitely recommend! We started with a hot tea and Diet Coke both were as expected I got a salad and miso soup, (Soybean Soup w/ Tofu, Scallions and Seaweed) and he got a Noodle Soup(Japanese Thick Noodle Soup w/ Kani and Toppings) both were really good. I ordered the Sushi A (California Maki Six pcs, Sushi Chef's choice). He ordered a spicy tuna roll, and a couple other rolls I couldn’t figure out the names of sorry but everything was good! We visited late summer and I’m just getting around to leaving the review, but we’ll definitely be back again! Parking: Plenty of parking in the free lot Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible apparently as there was a person in a wheelchair dining there at the same time we were"

"We visited this restaurant with our friends after a soccer tournament. We had high hopes for the food, which turned out to be good, so we give it 4 stars. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, which was good but not very spicy. My wife enjoyed the French dip, our kids liked the homemade macaroni and cheese, and our 12-year-old had the adult sirloin cooked perfectly. Our friends also had a similar food experience. As for the service, it was average. Our waiter did not connect well with us and made a few mistakes with our order, blaming us instead of apologizing. However, he did fix the errors in the end. The atmosphere was very nice, with clean surroundings, well-kept bathrooms, and a lovely view of the golf course with outdoor seating. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience."

"Simple fish gets a 2 star. Sadly. I really wanted to like it! TL;DR This should be a TAKEOUT ONLY kind of place. DO NOT DINE IN! The food is pretty decent Like 3 4 stars but the service was a horrible 1 star. My husband and I went on a Wednesday night (not a particularly busy night . There was only one guy working the whole restaurant. He had to be host and waiter! And he was not the kind of kid who was ready for a front facing job. He was painfully shy, didn't give us menus or utensils when he sat us, took our drink order after we'd been sitting for 20 minutes and when he did I gave him our full order. It was clear he was overwhelmed and that we probably wouldn't see him again for a while! It was frustrating for everyone. Our table wasn't the only one having to get up to get their utensils and napkins. The poor guy seemed like he was just trying to make it through the night. But that also meant as a diner we were ignored and our soup was cold when it finally came out. Also, the ambiance was stressful. The music playing was too quiet and soft so you could hear everyone's conversations. It felt like eating dinner at a library or spa. It just made the waiter's nervousness that much more awkward. Basically, I would only go back if doing takeout. But honestly, I'm not going to go back. There are too many places in Grand Rapids that actually care about their customers and offer a good experience with better sushi to go back to Simple Fish. TO THE OWNER: If you are too short staffed to deliver a good dining experience then you need to think of alternatives (ie, closed dining and takeout only or changing the style to fast casual patrons serve themselves."
