"Really good food, really BAD service. Might have just been our server (lazy morbidly obese) we arrived at 10:08pm directly behind a couple who were seated. 4 min later our server tried to come back and tell us that they seated their last table already (restaurant closes at 11pm) and begrudgingly sat us after we mentioned we were already ready to order and had arrived at the same time as the couple they had already seated, he angrily threw the menus down on the table when he sat us and then didn't come back to take our order for 10 minutes. Our servers gut was hanging out of the bottom of his shirt when he took our order, food was AMAZING but at 10:33 the only additional food we could order was dessert, which if they had already cleaned the sushi Chef's area and tools I guess is understandable. I will try them again and hopefully get a server who treats their customers with respect. If you want to close earlier, maybe don't have hours until 11:00 p.m."

Loved this spot! We got there pretty early on a Friday and had a bunch of sushi and tapas. All the food came out fast and was delicious. All the waitstaff were super nice and they did a great job clearing plates as we went through them and keeping tabs on us as far as ordering throughout dinner.Food: 5/5

The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are impressive! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in one of the tatami rooms, which provided a unique experience. We tried jellyfish for the first time here and also found the sushi to be fantastic. The servers were very friendly as well. Overall, I would give the food a 5/5 rating.

Looks like a typical small Izakaya inside. Great food. Authentic Japanese vibes. Ate the chicken katsu curry and it tasted like something I’d get in Japan. We arrived about a half hour before last call so the staff seemed to be on the tail-end of their energy. Service was acceptable, in any case, but the food was the real star here.

It used to be better about three years ago or so. The menu was larger. The food quality is still good, but I think they are overpriced. I could be wrong.Ex: The Unagi Don is $18, but you get about 5 made-for-sushi slices of eel and about a cup of rice under it with seasonings. My husband treated me to dinner here for my birthday, and it was amazing. We enjoyed a bowl of ramen, two sushi rolls, some sake, and a jellyfish appetizer, which was a unique and tasty dish to try. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was absolutely delicious! Overall, I would give this restaurant a perfect score of 5 out of 5 for the food.

Decent food, but workers have no people skills when it comes to fixing an issue with an order. Telling a person to pay for something then making them pay for the correct order is unacceptable. Especially with refusing to be allowed to speak to someone that could handle the situation. The restaurant needs to be cleaned since there are a bunch of bugs flying around.

The food is delicious, it comes out fast- right when it’s made, meaning it is the most fresh and delicious it can be and you don’t have to wait. Fabulous sake options. The food at this restaurant is absolutely delightful. The lunch special includes perfectly delicious sides and crispy katsu, and the sushi roll is particularly impressive. For dinner, the hot soba and calamari are delicious. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is great for a date. There are private areas around the perimeters of the restaurant for a more intimate dining experience.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Portland for two weeks this summer and found ourselves constantly wanting Izakaya for dinner. He loved the soft shell crab roll and I loved the miso ramen. The hot sake is superb as well as the service. We liked everything about this place. And the little booths are so intimate and cozy. This is a place with high-quality food and great service. They even have bidets on the toilets in the bathroom! Good job.
