"My recent visit to the King and I Thai restaurant's new location in Richmond Heights was a mixed bag. While the service started off friendly, things took a turn when we mentioned that one of the dishes was excessively salty. The waitress's demeanor shifted, as she informed us that the Papaya Salad contained soy sauce and fish sauce, implying that was the cause of the saltiness. Honestly, we've dined out and enjoyed Thai food before—we're familiar with soy and fish sauce, and this salad was simply too salty and unbalanced. There was no apology or suggestion for a substitute. The other dishes were decent, but the overall experience was soured, not by the salad alone, but by the waitress's response. To top it off, they didn’t even provide us with a check; they simply entered the total on the card machine and expected us to pay without seeing the bill. That was a first for me."

I tried the mango salad from the vegetarian menu, and it was delicious. It was very filling and hearty, with rice, tofu, and vegetables. As a vegan, it felt like a safe choice, and the vegetarian menu appeared to be very vegan-friendly.

Today we ordered Bangkok Kapow. It had a partially fertilized fried egg in it This is very unusual for them Thai people made like partially fertilized fried eggs, but the average American does not like that or expect that in a fried egg. They hadto have seen it when cooking the egg

King I Thai offers a wide variety of meat dishes, but their menu is extensive enough to include several vegan options as well. The spring rolls are delicious! Although the location can be a bit tricky to reach, the road it's on actually has many vegan-friendly restaurants. They also have a separate entrance for the exit, which is a nice touch. View menu

We did carry out via an online order. The food was right-out-of-the-oven hot at the projected time. Well done! The worker could have thrown a smile to make it a better experience, but for carry out, not much interaction so modest expectations. The food wasamazing! We ordered 4 different curry dishes and all were excellent. The 4 King dish was superb as well. If there is a next time(we're just visiting) I'd go with medium hot as mild was just that.

This restaurant was a choice of convenience, but I honestly regret it. I ordered the Kee Mao noodles, and it was absolutely nothing like a Thai noodle dish. The sauce was extremely runny and soupy, the noodles were the wrong type, and they weren?tcooked properly. The tofu wasn?t flavored or seasoned, and the mushrooms were extremely rubbery. I have never been moredisappointed or let down at a restaurant, and these prices weren?t at all worth it. I won?t ever be coming back.

All doors are closed except one. Please make all characters equal. We had the curry. The online price was 12 but it costs 38. Not sure what the fee was. The vegetables in the curry were not cut properly, no person has a mouth that is big. Very lazy. This meal was not worth it, this amount of cash everywhere. So crazy. We should get a hot medium, but both were the same. The person who took our order was very short with us. And rude when we called back to find the right door. One page said, use the South Opera door and other door just said to pick up, but was locked. You have to go all the way around the building to use the walk in the door. Very little effor in service and food preparation fo... View menu

I had a decent takeout meal after a day of sightseeing. I opted for the pad Thai, as I'm quite particular about it and tend to evaluate Thai restaurants based on their pad Thai. The dish came with a nice portion of chicken, though it was mostly noodles (I had eaten the chicken before snapping a photo). I prefer a few vegetables in my pad Thai as well. The flavor was present but a bit on the milder side, and there was no option to adjust the spice level. My husband tried the "Three Kings of Thailand," which he really enjoyed; it was something unique. We also ordered some steamed potstickers, but neither of us liked them—they were bland and mushy. Overall, it was a good experience, but it does...

"My boyfriend and I came to this place during our visit to St. Louis after reading rave reviews about it online. We went in well-dressed and excited with high expectations, but unfortunately were left feeling extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. Dining at the restaurant definitely taught us a lot about the ozark history. I have a lot of respect for the time and enthusiasm the owner put into researching the history, arranging youtube videos, and conveying this information to the guests. His concerns about the environment and zero-waste efforts are also very laudable. His direct interactions with all of the guests and attempts to answer questions were refreshing. The food, however, was very lacking and mediocre. The concept of watching your food being made is fun and exciting. Understandably, they can’t make everything and plenty is prepared in advance. Except they really didn’t seem to make much of anything at all. A few grilled mushrooms here, and a delicate but also pompous plating there and that’s it. I know there’s probably a kitchen in the back and they work throughout the day as most kitchens do, but this gaudy element of pseudo showmanship missed a serious mark. Again, that’s fine. It’s an aesthetic and part of the bulrush experience. What annoys me is the price tag and the faint whiff of haughtiness that comes with it. The kitchen hands also looked apathetic, disinterested, and lacked focus. They didn’t look like professional chefs, just professional food assemblers. I did not trust that they knew to prepare food properly and that was evident in what was eventually served. The food was either too plain, too sour, too salty, or overall a very big disappointment. The steak had so many big chunks of fat in it that I was only able to eat about half of it. The poissants were cute but definitely not something I would pay that much money for, especially given that there were only about two small pieces of it on our plates. The beets, brussel sprouts, asparagus, fried onions that we were served, I can find and reproduce in my own kitchen. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a lot more flavor, unique ingredients, and creativity. I asked the owner why Ozark and he admitted it was an entrepreneurial strategy to stand out. He loved to repeat to our audience that night that “no one else” is doing it! Well when you taste the food you can kinda see why? I can’t deny though that the chefs know how to make something look appetizing in pictures. That’s what initially attracted us to the restaurant. The pretty platings and colorfully spectacular arrangements were what got us in the door. The experience has been worth it in the sense that for all that we paid for, we got a good lesson to not eat with our eyes, and a funny story to tell our friends back at home."
