"We arrived a little after noon on a Friday and were greeted with a full house. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, which gave us a chance to browse the menus posted on the walls and ponder our orders. In the end, we chose the brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, green beans, chipotle bacon slaw, and western beans. We stuck with the mild standard BBQ sauce, and paired our meals with their popular lemonade and this week's special flavor, grape Kool-Aid. It felt wonderfully nostalgic! After placing our order, we had a short wait for our food to be prepared. Thankfully, it didn't take long before we had our meal. During peak hours, you might want to arrive early—many local workers flock here for lunch, especially during rush hour. The tender brisket and pulled pork were the highlights of the meal. I usually prefer a heavier smoke flavor in my BBQ, but both meats were expertly prepared, showcasing a nice smoke ring on the brisket and juicy pulled pork. While the green beans were canned and just okay, the mac and cheese was decent. However, the chipotle bacon slaw was superb, and the western beans were outstanding. They featured a delightful mix of beans and chopped vegetables in a flavorful sauce, complete with bits of crispy bacon—an incredible combination with just the right amount of seasoning. A few important notes about this excellent establishment: - Arrive before the lunch rush; the popular meats often sell out (similar to Aaron Franklin's BBQ in Austin). - Prices are very reasonable compared to other BBQ restaurants. - They serve breakfast and lunch until around 2 PM or until they run out of meats. - They don’t offer smoked turkey breast, as it tends to dry out. - Jackfruit is featured on the menu, which is a unique option. - They have daily specials on select days: Loaded Nachos on Wednesday, Loaded Baked Potatoes on Thursday, and St. Louis Ribs on Friday. - There are only two BBQ sauces available—mild and spicy—which I found a bit bland, so we ended up enjoying the meats without any sauce. - Their meats aren't overly smoked because they use pellet smokers rather than stick smokers. - The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and manage the busy lunch crowds with ease. - It’s a family-owned business, and the owners have been in operation for over five years. It’s easy to see why KOS has a nearly five-star rating. Nowadays, finding a restaurant with a five-star rating and over 50 reviews is rare, but this place truly lives up to the hype. The owners are humble and clearly appreciate their customers; they always greet newcomers and extend a heartfelt thanks to those who leave. We’ll definitely be returning!"

Literally everything is amazingly delicious from here. Popular local business with fast customer service. They only do ribs on Friday’s so make sure to get there early before they sell out.

Some of the best beef brisket in town. I recommend the loaded mac cheese (bowl of mac cheese topped with good sized serving of one of whatever meat you want... brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, etc). However, somewhat pricey given the dive location atmosphere.Food: 5/5 View menu

This might be the best barbecue experience I've ever had. Be sure to call ahead to reserve the St. Louis-style ribs (available only on Fridays). The brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and the amazing BBQ/Western beans are absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, making it a great spot in the heart of town.

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood between 22nd Street and Broadway Boulevard, this restaurant exudes that classic BBQ vibe. The enticing aromas inside instantly uplift your spirits. However, my experience took a downturn; it took nearly 20 minutes for my two-meat, two-side dish plate to be prepared and served. While the brisket and pork were of good quality, the brisket was excessively salty. Unfortunately, the macaroni and cheese lacked flavor, and the baked beans were just passable. Additionally, the value for the price was disappointing; I paid $17 for my plate and was still left hungry after finishing everything. The atmosphere didn’t have that warm and inviting feel you’d typically expect... View menu

Man, serving meal was very friendly. I had forgot to order an addition, and he was generous enough to just tell me take care of it next time, which is rare in this world. These days the floors were clean the tables were clean. The entire inside of the building is very traditional, barbecue and clean, the deliciousness of my burrito literally stop the world around me for a couple seconds and I ordered the brisket breakfast burrito with potatoes. They did not skimp on the brisket that she used was so good. I’m not had a burrito that did not exactly before I recommend trying them out and giving them a shot Off of South Plumber. I did not know the place existed until today and I really wanted to...

While Kiss of Smoke clearly lacks remotely impressive snazzy curb appeal, it's made up for by the quality of the food and perhaps some of the best post pandemic customer service in town.I found the prices to be reasonable considering today's monetary meltdown of economic insanity. While I found the mild sauce to be unimpressive, almost a bit bland , l found the spicy sauce to be highly flavorful and delish, almost addictive.Sadly numerous selfish people had already beaten me to the brisket on the day of my visit so it was sold out and l was forced to choke down the last plate of the day of pulled pork. I found the pulled pork to be juicy, well smoked and packed full of flavor. I was truly gra...
