"To emphasize my point, I'll start by mentioning that I live in Memphis, just a five-minute walk from one of the most renowned barbecue spots in the country, a place that has truly earned its reputation. However, there isn't a restaurant in the city, whether famous or emerging, that I would choose over Mr. Knoth's for pulled pork. The diner itself has a charmingly quirky vibe and is located just east of the Lake Barkley dam. The front area has a unique shape, surrounded by large windows and featuring a counter with friendly smiles. The back space is quite spacious yet maintains a retro aesthetic—it's decorated in such a way that it clearly has a throwback feel without overdoing it. There's nothing gimmicky about the food, either. You can opt for beef, but I wouldn't recommend it. Instead, you can choose between a sandwich or a plate served with slaw and fries. That's about it, unless you're in the mood for a milkshake for dessert. There are no ribs, no beans, no chicken wings, or cheese plates here—they simply don’t need them. The barbecue, slathered in their carrot-colored sweet sauce, is so delicious you'll be glad you made the trip."

The best BBQ in town! I’ve been enjoying their barbecue for over 40 years, and it’s just as delicious as ever. If you’ve never tried their BBQ and sauce, you absolutely need to pay them a visit! View menu

It is kind of a mustard based barbecue sauce.... And not your traditional... But it is a very good unique flavor.... And I would give it a ten out of ten. Prices are reasonable. The service is good. Very friendly staff.

Great local restaurant! Pork was moist and tasty! Waitress was adorable and Very Polite! Only reason I did not give 5 stars is a veggie is needed on the menu (besides coleslaw). Green beans, perhaps?! Overall great experience!

Excellent food and sauce. So authentic. We had fun dining here. Put our stars on a map they keep depicting where customers from every corner of the country are from. Also, they have a wall showing the history. Prices are very low. Best value this side of the Mississippi. Can't wait to return . View menu

I prefer to support local over the chain resteraunts and sometimes you never know what you going to get...Google; best barbeque land between the lakes and Knoth's is where you arrive... a little off the highway but well worth the trip. Mustard based sweet sauce is not for everyone but the hot was awesome.

I've been visiting this place since 2015, and it has turned into a tradition for my family. I always order the BBQ plate, whether it's pork or beef. The sauce is legendary, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is truly memorable. If you decide to come here, be sure to choose the BBQ instead of a hot dog. We travel over an hour to get here and then head over to Belew’s Dairy Bar for dessert in Hardin.

"I'm sorry to say but I went to this place three time in the past year and the food was awful this past time (only three days ago, Oct. 30th, 2022) not to say expensive, way too expensive for the small portions and pretty much just deep fried food. You'd say, hey, is a bar, what are you expecting? I went to bars and had bar food and I had much, but much better food than in this place. I mean, fries covered in some tasteless, melted cheese!!! Really, how in the world can one mess up fries?! It comes already from a frozen bag; add some salt and pepper and give it a bit of taste; and for the price, pls add some quality cheese and not some weird plasticky stuff that comes from a bag or who knows where?! My chicken sandwich was good up until i got to some sweet, gooey sauce completely unnecessary that pretty much ruined the sandwich for me. Needless to say I didn't finish my food. And let's talk about my drink: was absolutely terrible. I am not a drinker, I'm not a connoisseur when it comes to liquor so I'm assuming the mistake of ordering it; I decided to get me a cocktail and I jumped on their second option on their cocktail menu; everything sounded good, tequila, I think, if not rum; peach syrup, watermelon something, some sour something, and four more ingredients, I don't remember. Was the sweetest thing that I have ever tasted. Was undrinkable. It was like I poured pancake syrup in my mouth. For the $8 I was decided to drink itn though, and I thought that my food may help. It didn't. Look, I am willing to pay for the food and drink but I want my money to be worth it. Oh, and our server, a guy, disappeared after a while and never returned. We had to ask one of the ladies that was serving other clients to bring us the bill. Honestly, only the friendly ladies that were serving and the music band that was playing saved the night, hence the two stars. My husband and I liked the place because of its location and because it feels unpretentious, an intimate bar where only those who know this hidden gem are getting to enjoy it. Go for the music and a beer. When it comes to the food, they really need to either hire a new chef or take some cooking classes. Or call Gordon Ramsey to give you some tips about good food, even if is just bar food."
