"I eat at this place as much as i can because of the awesome food, great atmosphere, and nice employees and waitresses. I get the Philly cheese steak sub alot and everytime it's perfect! The fries are crispy and seasoned perfectly. The sandwich has nice soft bread and juicy, flavorful, mouthwatering grilled steak mixed with chopped green peppers and onions. You can never leave here hungry because they give you great servings of food. Always leave here satisfied and happy with a full stomach. Also i've seen local Hickory police here, if they eat here, i know this place is awesome!"

"So we wanted seafood and our normal place was closed after church, so we decided on trying Captain Galley?s. We waited in a short line before being sat. Our server (Courtney) greeted us shorty after sitting. We ordered and enjoyed our hush puppies.Courtney was great and made sure our drinks were always full. Our food camp out, it looked amazing. I grabbed my coleslaw andtook a bite, it was room temperature?not good. My one son doesn?t care of seafood so he got the baby back ribs. He ate one andsaid it wasn?t good. I ate my popcorn shrimp and soggy cold French fries. My oldest son got shrimp and chicken. He said theshrimp were Amazon but the chicken was like eating a tire, and that his collard greens were cold. My wife said her food was coldtoo. My son with the ribs offered me one. I took one bite and spit it out. Not sure what was wrong with the ribs but theyweren?t eatable. Courtney was great and tried to correct the issues. I say all that to say Courtney was 10 out of 10, the foodwas a 2."

"Nice atmosphere but food was less than fabulous. My husband ordered the wedge salad, which was little more than a hunk of iceberg lettuce with some watery bleu cheese over it. His sliders were burnt to a crisp. My paella was pretty good, but not great. Probably would not go here again if back in town."

"Sometimes you stumble upon a charming little hidden gem. If you're a fan of authentic homestyle Mexican food, this place is definitely one of the best. To reach the restaurant, you have to walk through a store, which adds to its quaint charm and overall atmosphere. We ordered chicken tacos, a chicken gordita, and chicken fajitas. The tacos were delicious, albeit a bit different from what I’m used to, as I usually prefer the street style with double mini tortillas. The gordita was a fantastic value for its size, and we shared it, which worked out perfectly. The fajitas were a comforting, homestyle dish, and they served an impressive amount of chicken—more than I’ve ever received anywhere else, which gave us enough leftovers for two additional meals. The beans were homemade, and most of what we had tasted freshly made, which is what I always prefer. This place is truly a hidden gem, and I will definitely be coming back!"
