"Let’s give them a break. I’m from Oahu but now live in Japan for over 14 years. You can say that I am a little biased because I live in the motherland of Japanese food. Unfortunately I can’t give any good marks for this restaurant as it has failed to win my approval due to the food quality and taste and from beginning to end the customer service was unsatisfactory. But this experience has made me realize how much the Japanese food establishments in Japan really take pride in the food and service they give. I guess that’s why I still live there. Basic dish like oyakudon wasn’t even offered there which was disappointing. Such a simple dish, rice with Katsu on top and then topped with slightly runny scrambled egg covering the whole dish. If you ever have this especially in Japan it’s quite good and filling. Also doesn’t break the bank. Sorry but I will pass on this restaurant and I can’t even recommend it to my Japanese friends because they would likely feel that there is something wrong with me."

Be careful of bones in your sashimi. Also be careful of the “couldn’t care less” attitude of the cook and wait staff. Subpar place to be brutally honest. Food was also very meh by sushi

Stopped in late and were seated right away! Our waiter was quick to take our order. We got the rainbow roll and the crunchy spicy tuna which we both very good! We also order the haleakala but weren’t a big fan of it. Three rolls and our total was around $50

Even though it wasn’t terribly busy, the waitress made us wait long stretches in between ordering, getting more water and receiving the check. I’m pretty patient but waiting 15-20 minutes is insane. I recently visited this restaurant and found the food to be good and reasonably priced compared to other sushi restaurants. The location is convenient and the service has improved since my last visit. However, the sushi chefs are not as friendly as the previous owner, who used to welcome every customer. If you want something customized, you may feel like you are inconveniencing them, even if you are willing to pay extra. Overall, there is nothing exceptional on the menu that stands out.

The service is average with nothing exceptional to note. The food quality, flavor, and texture are inconsistent; some dishes lack flavor, are dry, or simply do not satisfy. Considering the price, it is not worth the experience. I do not recommend this restaurant as there are better options available on the island.
