"We were visiting from Atlanta where everyone always assumes the best Korean food can be found, but I politely disagree. Northern Boulevard, with all its humble storefronts, is where some of the tastiest hidden treasures can be found. I thought I knew where the best jjajangmyun, or black bean noodles, were, but in the time I've lived outside of New York, this noodle house has apparently and recently gained the reputation of the best jjajangmyun in town. There are tons of combination platters in case you're craving a variety of the most popular plates (with cleverly sectioned off bowls that keep the two entrees separate), but I went straight for my tried and true order of black bean noodles and especially appreciated that there was a vegetarian variety for non-meat eaters like me. I've never seen whole broccoli florets in my black bean sauce but I appreciated the healthful touch. Plus everyone else at the table who ordered the regular kind seemed to be gazing enviously at my verdant pops of veg.The noodles are fresh, with just the slightest toothsome quality, and the sauce was just as delicious as my parents promised it'd be. We also ordered some of the spicy battered shrimp, which ended up being a little softer than I'd like, but when a dish is so saucy, it's hard to maintain a crunchy batter. This was our very first meal after our plane touched down in New York, and it'll likely be where I have every first meal henceforth when I visit."

Incredible noodles! I would choose these over any pasta in Manhattan.

Limited menu options. Also beware that you get the correct change. We gave him a $100 bill for a $75 check. He did not bring back change and we had to ask. He then gave us $15 back and I had to tell him it was wrong before he gave us $25. Bro thought I was leaving a $25 tip??? View menu

I found this restaurant by chance while using Waze and decided to give it a try. The chicken noodle soup is light, which is exactly what I enjoy. The noodles have a nice chewy texture. I appreciate that the kimchi isn’t overly sweet, as I've encountered at other places. The service here is good and the staff is polite. I’m leaving this review to support such a wonderful family restaurant.

We dined at this restaurant last night and found it to be an unassuming spot with fantastic food. We ordered the seafood pancake, noodles with Manila clams, and noodles with beef, and everything was absolutely delicious. The broth was incredibly flavorful and provided a warm, comforting sensation, reminiscent of a cozy blanket on a chilly winter day. We can't wait to return and sample more of their offerings!

The seafood pancake was very good and was slightly crispy. It came with this amazing hot sauce with green chilis. The kimchi and radish banchan were spicy. Each noodle dish is enough for 2 people. My friend got the seafood knife-cut noodles and the broth had an intense seafood flavor. They were out of their cold knife-cut noodles so I got the cold soybean soup noodles for the first time. It was pretty bland but I think that's the style of the dish. The restaurant is clean. View menu

Since Arirang closed in Manhattan, we haven't enjoyed kalguksu in ages! Fortunately, we stumbled upon this place while driving through the area, and I'm so glad we did! Their menu isn't extensive, but that's not an issue when you specialize in noodles. The noodle soup is incredibly comforting. I believe the noodles are made in-house, and the broth is flavorful. I preferred the chicken broth over the kimchi one, which had a slightly sweet taste. The portions are enormous, so I recommend sharing if you want to sample other dishes on the menu. We also ordered the beef mandu and seafood pancake, and both were generous servings! Additionally, please note that there is no outdoor seating, as menti...

They offer numerous combination platters if you're in the mood to sample a variety of popular dishes, featuring cleverly divided bowls to keep the entrees separate. However, I opted for my go-to choice of black bean noodles, and I was thrilled to see that they also have a vegetarian version for those who prefer not to eat meat. I was pleasantly surprised to find whole broccoli florets in my black bean sauce, adding a nice healthy touch. The diners at my table who ordered the regular version seemed to eye my verdant additions with envy. The noodles were fresh, with just the right amount of chewiness, and the sauce was just as delicious as my parents had promised. We also tried the spicy batt...
