"I stumbled upon this restaurant a while back, and it made such an impression that I couldn't resist returning just two days later. I was craving the malatang I enjoyed in South Korea, and this place has a similar setup! You can select as many vegetables, meats, noodles, and other ingredients as you like, and they're weighed by the pound. You also get to choose your spice level; we opted for medium, which turned out to be not very spicy at all. We ended up with 3.4 pounds of food, totaling about $47. The broth was delicious and comforting, though I was hoping for a stronger mala flavor—it was a bit on the mild side. The service was prompt, and the Korean server was exceptionally kind and attentive to our needs. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food."

This is my partner and I’s favorite restaurant in Boston. The flavors are divine, even for vegetarians! Can’t recommend enough, just watch how much you add to your bowl because the price can add up with all the tasty ingredients. : View menu

We ordered Malatang and we love it. This is my first time dining in. I usually order on RICEPO but their portion can barely feed one person. It gets a bit salty in the end (maybe it’s because of their seasame/spicy oil sauce? Their service was great! (especially a server who speaks korean Food: 4/5

As a lifelong fan of malatang, I really enjoyed the flavors of this dish. However, after eating for a while, I found it to be quite salty. I suspect that the soup base has sesame in it, and the chili oil contributes to the overall saltiness and oiliness of the broth. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.

Fantastic. Service was super polite and helpful without being pushy at all. Delicious, super fresh ingredients and wide variety. I had no trouble at all eating vegan here, and my dining partner was just as satisfied. Pricing was great. Seating and atmosphere are low-key, but for a slurpy meal like Malatang, that’s just what I want. The medium spicy was PERFECT. View menu

Amazing and flavorful Asian food with good pricing. The main reason I’m leaving this review though is to acknowledge how amazing the staff is. I received amazing service here but in top of this, the owner is actually such a genuine good person. One time he offered me an umbrella for free when I was leaving because of the rain which was so helpful. Great food, great team, great owner.

The price is based on weight, so it depends on how much you fill your bowl with Malatang. There’s a rule that you need to get at least 1 pound. The servers are friendly and patient when explaining the menu. You can also adjust the spice level to your preference. I had a bowl that weighed 1.5 pounds, and it cost nearly $30 (including tax and tip), but everyone dining in is required to give a minimum 10 percent tip. Nothing really surprised me; it was just standard Malatang and a bit pricey. I was also confused by the meat section since there were no labels, which might lead you to accidentally choose the wrong protein. Overall, the food is standard, a bit overpriced, but the service is good.

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
