"This place was never as good as Redang Island, which closed last year. Overall, it was just mediocre. Dishes like this should be made at home and authentically; otherwise, it's akin to bad Chinese takeout. Even the sambal, which is usually fresh and tasty in an authentic kitchen, tasted store-bought here. It’s like a fine Italian restaurant serving pasta with ketchup. Additionally, the highlight of our experience was the hair I found in my food, which I discovered while dining at my Malaysian Buddhist temple. It was quite a large piece! We simply asked for the bill and left, feeling very disappointed with the quality of the food. I’m not sure why this place gets decent reviews, but I’ve been surprised before. We only tried five dishes, and I was left feeling let down. On a positive note, the decor was beautiful. Most diners seemed to be ordering the gaudy-looking pineapple fried rice—who knows why? My advice is to leave this place to the tourists. Brooklyn’s Chinatown has much better restaurants. If you’re looking for authentic Malaysian food, there are a few hidden gems worth the trip."

The experience was mediocre. The menu options were limited, the portions were small, and overall, the flavors didn't measure up to other Malaysian restaurants in NYC.

Ever since they change management this place has gone downhill. Prices have increased significantly, less quantity, taste flavorless, and they charge you per $1 per sauce that's suppose to come with it.

The food is okay, maybe we ordered the wrong items. The noodles didn't have the wok flavor we expected. Taro nest was very filling, expensive, and didn't have many ingredients worth the price. Overall quite expensive and not too worth it.

This was my third time visiting Langkawi, and I had a strong craving for fried food. I opted for the calamari, confident in their frying skills. The calamari had an amazing texture, unlike any I’ve ever experienced before. It was absolutely fantastic! I’m definitely looking forward to returning to Langkawi very soon. View menu

I stopped by langkawi for dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant had a decent amount of people for a later dinner time. We ordered the roti canai I'm very pleasantly surprised that the quality of food since the name has changed so i assume there has been a change of ownership. I was a frequent diner at the nyonya franchise of Malaysian restaurants in New York and will be back to langkawi. Roti canai: still flaky and the curry is super flavorful chicken and shrimp in taro nest: super good and one of my favorite dishes

It's a decent Malaysian restaurant, especially since there aren't many in Brooklyn sunset park area. We got the roti canai $6), Nasi lemak $16) and Chow Kuew Toh $16). I asked for my noodles extra spicy and it came with not an ounce of spice at all. I had to ask for extra sambal. Odd that their in house sambal isn't spicy either. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly. Bathrooms are clean, which is rare for 8th ave Chinatown restaurants. They also didn't rush us from the table, also another Brooklyn Chinatown rarity. View menu

Called for take out on a Sunday night, last that picked up was really nice. Ordered half a hainanese chicken, clay pot pearl noodle, roti, curry chicken and pork chop with Peking sauce. All the dishes were really good, only thing is the portion is rather small for the price. $6 for the appetizer of roti which is the size of a tissue i personally think is over priced. The curry chicken was really good, and the portion size of that was good. The pork chop with Peking sauce was small pieces but the taste was delicious, it was crispy and soft on the inside and the sauce was a good amount of sweet and tangy. I would order again but just not as often.

This is a respectable Malaysian restaurant, especially given the few choices available in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn. We ordered the roti canai ($6), nasi lemak ($16), and chow kueh teow ($16). I asked for my noodles to be extra spicy, but they came out completely mild; I had to request extra sambal. It's unusual that their house sambal isn't spicy either. On a positive note, the service was prompt, and our food arrived quickly. The bathrooms were clean, which is quite rare for restaurants on 8th Avenue in Chinatown. We also appreciated that they didn't rush us out of our seats, which is another uncommon experience in Brooklyn's Chinatown.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
