"I rarely write negative reviews, as I usually prefer to skip commenting if I don’t enjoy a meal. However, this experience was truly disappointing—possibly the worst restaurant meal I’ve ever had. The menu featured what looked like a delicious baked chicken dish accompanied by pan-fried rice. Instead, I was served deep-fried chicken and rice that lacked any finesse. Out of hunger, I tried to eat as much of the bland chicken as I could, along with the meager fresh vegetables: three slices of cucumber, a half leaf of lettuce, and some grated pickled carrots. The rice was a hard, tasteless block that was completely inedible. The waitress—who may also be the owner—never checked in on me despite being the only customer. She wasn’t even slightly accommodating when I pointed out that the dish didn’t resemble the picture or description on the menu. I’m baffled by the positive reviews this restaurant has received. Perhaps the ownership has changed, or maybe I just happened to choose the worst item on the menu."

So happy we gave this place a go! The vegetarian pho was amazing, super fresh veggies, piping hot well balanced broth. Everything coming out to those dining in looked equally delicious. We’ll be back!

The service at this restaurant was quick, and the food was very fresh. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including many vegetarian choices. We tried the crispy chicken, which was accompanied by a small salad and crispy rice; the crispy rice was definitely the highlight of my meal. We also ordered the tofu spring rolls, which were quite large, as well as a Thai iced tea and bubble tea.

People are not being honest about this place. It ranks among the worst restaurants in Portland. The first warning sign is that there doesn't seem to be anyone in the kitchen; the cashier will occasionally go behind the counter, and soon after, you'll hear the 'ding' of a microwave, and suddenly there's your pho. The flavors have strange aftertastes, the ingredients don’t taste fresh, and it’s actually quite pricey. Something unusual is definitely happening here.

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
