"I really wanted to like this place. The smells when we walked in were amazing! However, they were very busy. Our server took our order, brought our food, and then we didn't see her again for nearly an hour. I finally had to send another server to get her. Then it took another 15 minutes to pay for our meal. No drink refills ever appeared. As for the food, I ordered the chicken fried chicken. It looked amazing! The chicken was perfectly cooked. The gravy was tasty and the beans I ordered were great! However, the breading on the chicken was so spicy hot that I could only force down half of the order. It completely ruined the entire dinner. I might have discussed it with the server but, as I said, she was never there. I hope others have better experiences, here."

The food was excellent, but the drinks were quite weak. I've ordered drinks here many times and they've usually been good, which is why I keep ordering them. However, this time they just tasted like juice. I don't think I'll be ordering drinks again.

The brisket poboy was fine, but certainly not outstanding. The peach bread pudding was more like cake. Dry and basically tasteless. I’m not sure what the deal was with the potato salad, but it wasn’t like anything I’ve ever tasted, and not in a good way. I live in the Baton Rouge area, and I can tell you this. As packed as that place was here in Ruston, it wouldn’t last a month farther south.
