"Holy hell, this place has gone downhill from what it used to be back in the day. I just ate (or tried to eat) part of a plate of barbecue that was cold (not just cool but stone cold), Brunswick stew (barely even a bit warm), and pickles that tasted like, I don't know ... feets? The restroom was atrocious. Paper towels everywhere, p stains on the seat, ugh. Avoid this place. It ain't what it used to be! And it used to be the best in Columbus."

It's a Columbus must-stop institution for a reason. See that pile of wood in the photo? It tastes even better. I like the sliced bbq, it really brings out how soft they make the meat. View menu

For the price, you can't beat Macon Road BBQ. Maybe not as flashy as Country's, but the food is just as good if not better. And I would take their lunch and service over Country's any day of the week.

I grew up on Macon Road BBQ. It has never changed. Still has the same great taste and just to ride by still makes me hungry. If you are tired of the larger over priced BBQ place in town then try this one. It's AWESOME!!Food: 5/5

I was a kid in Columbus in the 70s. I cried when it burned down. I moved back to Columbus after 50 years. The food at Macon Road has lived up my memory. I am one happy man. Went there for dinner last night and back for lunch today.
