"Visited here on a Saturday evening with high hopes. I wanted for them to be open long enough for the new to wear off and give them a chance to break things in. The place has a nice clean interior, smaller than I was expecting. At six o 'clock, it was not very busy, so we were able to pick a table of our choice. Our first impression was being greeted by a child who gave us our menus. Another lady took our drink order: Iced teas. 1 sweet, 1 not, both with lemon. They arrived about 10 minutes later, both unsweetened and no lemon. We asked for lemon and sugar, there was none on the tables. They brought two TINY slices of lemon and could only offer sweet and low sweetener. We decided to order. The menu online showed multiple beef choices (you would expect that for a place with steak in its name). But the only steak they had was a $20 ribeye, so I ordered that medium rare. We also order the mashed potatoes and green beans. The other dinner was a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. (At least 5 items had been sharpie markered off the menu) While we waited for our dinners we were asked at least 5 times if everything was ok. All I can say if we are still waiting for food, then no. When asked that many times, it just gets annoying because you are reminded you are still waiting. 35 minutes later they finally showed up. The plates looked good. The chicken fried steak was quite good. Cooked perfectly. The ribeye was another story. While thin, it looked good. First bite showed it was WAY over seasoned and was over cooked. It became obvious that the steak was cut unevenly. So I tried the other side. Also extremely salty, but it was cooked nice. Unfortunately the final nail in the steak was an overwhelming taste of smoky char-coal-ie burntness which to me came from a dirty grill that was in bad need of a wire brush cleaning. The mashed potatoes were basically mashed up baked potatoes with no butter or cream, and no seasoning, so were dry and had little or no taste. The green beans also had no seasoning and were over cooked. We took the chicken fry dinner home. The steak dinner I could not eat even a quarter of. When I told them how salty it was and was inedible, their excuse was that they had just changed seasoning. They said they could give me a discount or could cook another. We did not have time for them to try again. Their idea of a discount was to take $3 off the steak. At $20, it was already $3 overpriced. While I was not looking for a free meal, they should have taken it off the ticket. If I had eaten most of it, that would be something different. I took two bites of potatoes and beans, and four bites of steak trying to find an edible piece of steak. I really wanted to like this place, and was hoping for a new place to get a nice steak on Saturday nights, but between the amateurish service and poorly seasoned food, it looks like I am still looking."

I wouldn't dine at a restaurant where the owner doesn't wash his hands after using the restroom.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is a fantastic chef. The food was excellent. While the service could use some improvements, the meal itself was a solid 10. I will definitely be back!

Went to lunch after church and was disappointed. Ordered the special which was ribs. That's all I got. No sides or nothing just a half order slab of ribs on a plate. Was expecting a little more like maybe french fries baked potato salad anything.

My uncle and I decided to check out the new restaurant for a late lunch on a weekday. After a long day of work, we were both quite hungry. We opted for the buffet, which offered four different entrees. I loved the chicken fried chicken, while my uncle chose the ribs and chicken spaghetti. The sides were fantastic, especially the gravy on the mashed potatoes—absolutely delicious! The iced tea was very refreshing too. We'll definitely be back for more! View menu

Love the atmosphere in this place! Our waitress, Trinity, was excellent. She brought out our food piping hot after such a short wait for the dinner rush. My Chicken Tender Platter was to die for, with homemade mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, crunchy onion rings. I believe the BBQ sauce is homemade as well! My companion's burger was cooked perfectly, though the fries were a tad soft. Overall it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back to try more on this extensive menu.

My wife and I ate there Sunday Sept. 1 and we really enjoyed everything. We were so impressed that we went back the following Friday. Friday was a disaster. My wife ordered pizza and it was ok. I ordered the fried catfish, baked potato and grilled corn. They brought the fish and the corn, after they brought her pizza. The baked potato wasn't finished cooking yet, the corn was cold so they said they would bring another piece which was warm but not hot and quickly cooled off. I was nearly finished with my fish when I my baked potato was served and the second ear of corn came after that. The food was ok, but why wouldn't you serve everything at the same time. Not sure we will be going back anyt...

"I have to write about good and bad. I searched up a place to eat while visiting Marlin, TX and saw this place. The atmosphere was amenable. The place was segmented into three or so areas. Two were a very quiet place to sit and the third had a few flat screens, a bar, and a little more activity. That set up can be great if you want to consistently go and might be in a more or less social mood each time. I do have to mention that I visited the restroom and it was impressively clean and you get a 'comfortable ' feeling knowing that they care enough to keep it sparkling. The servers were friendly and fairly attentive. The chips and salsa were good. I had one companion who ordered the tortilla soup. She was pretty satisfied and I agreed as I got to tasted it as well. I ordered the enchiladas verde, thinking obviously a signature staple should be a safe bet. They suggested beef, so, fine with me. I have to honestly say it was inedibly bland. I regret not taking a picture, but the beef was not seasoned in the slightest. It came right out of the browning pan. The cheese was a little dry and the tortilla very dry. Instead of being a cheesy, melty, flavorful beautiful mess, it was decidedly just a dried-out, bland mess. In fact if you can imagine an enchilada-rolled tortilla so stiff it stood up and crumbly brown meat that would just fall out of the shell... Anyway, I wish them the best and I hope this helps everyone. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Chips and Salsa"
