"Love the food, always been very satisfied. Today, I ordered through the app for the first time and was very disappointed. I set the pick up time for 4:30p, got an email at 4:15p saying my order was ready. Arrived at 4:25, checked in through the email, sat outside for 15min, during which I called the restaurant 3 times and no one answered, so I go inside, lobby is empty, there's 3or 4 families eating, I can see through the window into the kitchen and everyone is standing around chatting. To top it off I had to wait an additional 10 min for them to actually have my order ready which caused me to be late for work. This was at the location in St. Joseph, MO. Then to top it off, I didn't get the extra salad dressing I paid for, didn't go back as I was already at work and late"

Worst Caesar salad I ever had. Not fresh. As you can see in the photo there is a lot of lettuce turning brown. First and last time here!

Love the sweet tea! The food is good also. Clean restaurant to eat at. Friendly staff. Extremely busy at lunch during the week. If you get there between 11:30-11:45 am you can usually beat the lunch hour traffic.

The BEST part of my awful experience is the table was clean. Girl who waited on me acted like she'd rather have a root canal done than wait on me. Threw half my salad away, ROTTEN lettuce. See photos. Look appealing?

Glad to see this place is running much better than it was a little over a year ago! The service seem mostly new, but they did well. The food was good and the tea was great (I got to buy a whole gallon of it! . Our meals were good. I would recommend! View menu

I have always enjoyed eating here. But today the chicken and dumpling soup was way over cooked. The salad didn’t have everything it was supposed to have in it and the lady at the cash register was not in a good mood. We were on a lunch hour and our food got to all of us very quickly. It wasn’t bad but it is not the quality I’m used to when I eat at this restaurant.

I tried the smoky chicken sandwich and wow, was it spicy! I've had it before, but this time it was even spicier. Unfortunately, they no longer have the chicken and dumplings on the menu, which was a disappointment for me. However, the service at this restaurant is always excellent. My husband ordered the chicken gnocchi soup and he really enjoyed it. I think I'll give that a try next time.

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant due to the lack of customer service and knowledge. Despite requesting a refund multiple times, I have yet to receive one three weeks after placing my order. The managers often put me on hold and fail to follow up with me. Despite my respectful demeanor, they have been unable to fulfill their duties or rectify the situation. This level of service is unacceptable. View menu

McCallisters is a more upscale sandwich shop compared to others, but still offers a typical sandwich shop menu. The food is fresh and high quality, with enormous salads and sandwiches. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the food. Meals are served on plates with real silverware, and the staff is polite and efficient. The modern, clean atmosphere sets it apart from typical fast food places. The nachos plate was especially large. I wish there was a McCallisters near me, as I enjoyed it so much during my vacation that I visited twice in two different states. Highly recommend this spot!

A group of us went out to lunch and ended up at this place chosen by someone in the group. When I inquired about vegan options at the cashier, he admitted that he was not familiar with vegan food and had to check with the kitchen staff. I ended up ordering the vegan chili and a veggie sandwich without cheese. The sandwich, after being veganized, was uninteresting and tasteless. The vegan chili, on the other hand, was delicious and the only standout dish. Despite this, I don't think I would go out of my way to come back to this deli. It is good to know that they have at least one good vegan option for those in the area or visiting.

"We recently visited St. Joe and were on the lookout for vegan options, and this restaurant was one of the few that had a dedicated vegan menu. Firstly, the positives: the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We really enjoyed the vibe, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. Now, onto the less favorable aspects. Although the restaurant has a vegan menu, I was surprised to find out that they don’t offer any plant-based milk for coffee. This felt quite unusual since even many of my meat-eating friends prefer plant milk in their coffee nowadays; it’s rare to come across a place that only serves dairy options in 2022. As for the food, we tried the vegan shepherd’s pie and the vegan curry, along with split pea soup and hummus with pita as sides. Unfortunately, I had to send the shepherd’s pie back to the kitchen because it was cold in the middle. While I enjoyed the split pea soup and found the curry quite nice, the rice that accompanied the curry was dry, and the pita served with the hummus was also cold, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the food just didn’t quite hit the mark. Perhaps it’s because we come from an area with a wide variety of vegan choices, but despite arriving hungry, we ended up leaving more than half of our meal untouched. I usually finish my plate, but this time we didn’t even ask for a box to take our leftovers back to the Airbnb. In summary, the staff and atmosphere were wonderful, but the vegan food leaves room for improvement. I also strongly suggest they start offering plant-based milks for coffee."

"We arrived shortly after 7 p.m. and immediately overheard one of the staff engaged in a conversation filled with extremely foul language, which was quite off-putting for a first impression of a restaurant. After a few minutes, we were finally seated, but then we felt completely forgotten. It took over 40 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink order, and we quickly decided to order our food at the same time. The wait for our food was equally long, taking another 35 to 40 minutes. I ordered the Simon sandwich with french fries. Unfortunately, it was drenched in so much barbecue sauce that it soaked through the bread and made it nearly impossible to enjoy. The roast beef was stringy and tough; every bite resulted in half the filling falling out, making it hard to chew. In the past, I have ordered that sandwich dozens of times and always considered it one of the best in St. Joseph, but tonight it was barely edible. I ended up leaving a quarter of the sandwich and quite a few of the french fries on my plate. The fries were overly greasy and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. After we placed our food order, we didn't see our waitress again, so there were no drink refills, and we weren't even asked if we wanted dessert. This was certainly not the experience I wanted my friend to have at a restaurant I used to cherish. I have no plans to return anytime soon."
