"Cool understated vibe. Excellent service (super kind and attentive). Lighting was a little dim and the music was a little loud, depending on how you feel about these things. I was into it. We dine early and it was pretty empty when we got there but almost full when we left.We had the focaccia (amazing) and gem lettuce (recommend). The margarita pizza was what you’d expect, executed very well. Very tasty sauce. The crust is a little limp but that’s the style. The bottom has some char. The cacio y pepe pizza was awesome it’s cheesy corn!! The corn was so sweet clearly from some farm or something, not what you get at the grocery store. Excellent balance of flavors and very trendy rn. Highly recommend. We only ordered one sauce (pesto) and it was a little meh. I felt a bit pressured to order a sauce cause it’s “their thing” but I wasn’t so into it. Maybe if you were with a group and ordered multiple to try… but honestly all the food was so good on its own, I felt the sauce didn’t add much IMHO. But maybe we just ordered the wrong one.For dessert we got the chocolate mint Sunday. I’m not a mint fan but it was *so* faint you honestly might now know it’s there. The gelato must be House made the flavor is rich and creamy, though the texture is a bit icy. The brownie was amazing. It’s a generous size we split it and didn’t finish, but we were also both quite full by the time it arrived. Another time I’d try one of the more interesting flavors. We followed dinner with a leisurely stroll around Little Island (5min walk away, basically across the street) which was the perfect post dinner walk."

New gem in the city, amazing pizza with quality ingredients. The gelato was just PERFECT, and the bibb salad was just OUT OF THIS world. Service was beyond, will for sure be coming back!

The place and the service great. For the food I have mix feelings. The Tomato salad was espectacular but the mushroom pizza has a particular flavor that personally it’s not my favorite and did like crust is thin but was way to over cooked. The tricolore straciattela dessert saved the dinner really amazing flavor and highly recommended.

They charged us $8 for a bottle of water, even though we just wanted regular tap water. However, the pizzas were delicious! It was hard to pick a favorite, but if we had to order one again, it would likely be the Pizza Scampi. The atmosphere was nice, with lively music playing in the background, and the service was decent. I would definitely come back. View menu

Mel's is my favorite restaurant in all of Manhattan. The staff treats you like a valued regular, the food is incredibly delicious, and the cocktails are creative, stunning, and flavorful. This place is truly a gem, and I keep coming back for more. A helpful tip: be sure to make a reservation, as it's always bustling with guests. Another recommendation: don’t miss out on the dipping sauces!

Pizza gets a 4 only because the sauce on each pizza was not stellar. The dough for me was a 5. The weird seafood pizza was actually my favorite. So Maybe I can’t be trusted about anything? who puts octopus on a Pizza ? But it is diced so small It isn’t off putting. Loved the sauce selections for dipping. Salsa verde was the best. Space is beautiful and wine selection is on point. They even gave us a complimentary appetizer.

Excellent pizza, especially the thin soft crust and toppings, though I was less impressed by the charred cornicione. The gem salad was fine, especially the creamy burrata. The waiter strongly recommended an overpriced sauce to eat with the cornicione which was good alone, but that ended up overwhelming the pizza, so for me it's a pass. A pizzeria for impressing your party, but I wouldn't go out of the way for this delicious but pricey pizza. View menu

I've visited this place twice, and I can honestly say it's incredible. Every pizza I've tried has been perfect, and the gelato sundaes are just as impressive. The giant clam and mushroom pizzas are my absolute favorites, but honestly, everything I’ve had is a must-try. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you stop by—even if it's just for a quick visit to enjoy one of their delicious cocktails and a pizza. I give it a million out of ten!

Mel’s is first and foremost a SCENE- reminiscent of the NYC days of Mercer Kitchen, Spotted Pig and Etat Unis. For a place moonlighting as a “pizzeria” the food was pretty fantastic; the space, pretty chic; and the customer service, simply SUPERB!We came to Mel’s for some beyond-the ordinary pizza and ice cream for an 11-yr-old’s birthday. But my husband and I ended up enjoying the experience the most. The architecture and design of the space is appropriate to the meatpacking district area. The dress code is NYC understated elegance. The cocktails were delicious (I had the Bella). The shrimp appetizer was perfectly done. Then theere was the pizza! The potato pecorino, the seafood and the pro...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
