"Over the weekend, my family and I visited Middleport with the intention of trying out Alternative Grounds, however, we were disappointed to find that it was closed earlier than expected. Across the street, we discovered Portside, a cozy diner that was open for business. Intrigued, we decided to give it a shot and we were thrilled that we did! As a fan of small-town diners, I was delighted to find that Portside met all my expectations: reasonable prices, generous portions, friendly service, a diverse menu, delicious baked goods, and flavorful coffee, all in a charming and inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights was the Saturday special, a Large Pizza with Unlimited Toppings for just $13. We opted for a vegan-friendly version with no cheese and all the veggies, and the owners happily accommodated our request. The pizza was loaded with flavorful vegetables on top of a savory sauce and chewy crust - a real treat! We also indulged in some homemade baked goods, including a cannoli brownie cupcake and a peach unicorn cupcake, both of which were scrumptious. Portside offers a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, soups, breakfast items, and entrees, as well as more creative options like sloppy joes. The owners are welcoming and accommodating, making it a truly enjoyable dining experience. While they may not offer vegan or gluten-free options on the regular menu, they are willing to accommodate special requests if notified in advance. As a family-run establishment, their hours may vary, but they are typically open for lunch and dinner. We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem during our future visits to Orleans County - a new favorite spot for us! :-)"

"This is from a visit on September 20th 2023. I understand everyone else has left a good review and it is great that they enjoyed their visit to the cafe. But my experience was not so. We were served our two chickpea wraps warm, they are traditionally a cold wrap made as an alternative to chicken salad or tuna salad. There were minimal chickpeas and they were thrown in whole. BUT being warmed up I could deal with, why I leave the one star is the mayonnaise was thrown into the wrap and the warmed up which liquified it. The wrap was put in our containers in a puddle of that melted/liquified mayo. The fact that the person that made it knew they had a dripping mess on their hands and still chose to place it into the container is awful. We paid $10 apiece for two soggy disappointing messes. One didn’t actually have all the ingredients included. We will not be back."

"1st time customer here. We ordered a half rack and a Hog Wild. The corn muffins were a little too moist and the French fries were soggy but the meat was melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The Hog Wild has enough meat for 6 meals. We polished off the ribs and brisket immediately. Here’s a salad I made with the pulled pork; I used their house barbecue oil for dressing. Last night I made chicken wraps for dinner. I still have some chicken left for another sandwich or salad.My partner picked up the food and he said the staff were extremely friendly. We will definitely be ordering or visiting them again in the future."

"I had the pleasure of Djing a wedding here today and I must say, as a DJ most venues do not treat somebody working the event with this much respect. I was treated as a guest during the entire thing. Staff is super helpful, food is fantastic. They absolutely made our Bride's wedding perfect. The actual rooms are very clean, everything looks brand new. Great space for a party. As for the grounds, despite such a dry season the grounds look great and there was a pretty decent amount of people golfing. Definitely looking forward to any future events here. Thank you guys for being as great as you are!"
