"cool bar in the city. small racist and xenophobic amount not too large for from the city dwellers I am not white and it felt a little unwilling, but the natives tend to hold themselves. I just moved here and had more positive experiences at the other local locations. the bartender and cashier were super nice. the Sicilian pizza is all brot when they look at this pizza? all in all, the actual place is quite cool, historical and persecuted. eating is good, they can play billard while they wait and the cocktails are good!"

Monopole was my favorite place to enjoy from 1976 till 1980 while active duty at pafb

the place itself is really cool due to its age, but the pizza is very dirty. beautiful people and good drinks specialties. View menu

Drink prices are alittle higher than others. small but has a kitchen and pool table, those hot wings were whats up! For the wings alone I might have to stop back in!

Awesome vibe. Cash only but there is an ATM in the back. Has pool, darts, beer pong, and foosball. Drinks are cheap and good and servers are pleasant and interactive. Big projector screens in the back to watch the game.

a terrible place to go. bartender kayla was rude, unstoppable and spent the whole night screaming the mozens. kitchen staff was slow, took my food forever. ancestors are great, but I never could go back there. if you have a chance to go somewhere else. not worth money. View menu

I went during sorority senior bar crawl night of all places, thank God the ta kees game was being projected on the wall or it would have been much worse. I did enjoy the price, but the layout was very odd. I felt like I was walking through someone's house to grab a beer.

Recently moved to the area and not knowing anyone made the thought of going to a bar after avoiding covid for 2 yrs no less a bit intimidating before walking in. Decided to go during a quiet Sunday night and quickly enjoyed the company, conversation, and food. Glad I found myself a regular bar to go to, and its definitely a place worth visiting if you're in the area!

"I 'm disabled, in a power wheelchair, and this place... listed as handicap-accessible... was a destination for me during my visit to Plattsburgh. Getting in the door was the first problem: While there was a ramp up to the entrance, the threshold was a bit high and caused my chair to jump over it. Once inside, I noticed that it was very loud... like a subway platform at rush hour. In my 72 years I 've been in a lot of diners and restaurants, and this was the loudest I 've been in. It took quite a while to place my order after I was seated at a table I could roll up to. I noticed that the bathrooms were not accessible to my chair, the doors needed to be easy-open and at least 36 wide for ADA. I need to be able to turn around inside the bathroom. When the food arrived, it was good enough, and decent quantities. But, and something that turned me off, was that the meal was served on plastic plates, plastic bowls, plastic coffee cups. The utensils were at least metal. The only thing worse for me at any diner is to find them serving hot coffee in paper cups. Plastic chemicals can leech into hot foods. After my meal, it took a long time to get the staff 's attention to get my check. I gave up on asking for an extra napkin, and took one from another table. I really wanted to like this place... I love stopping at diners and smaller restaurants like this. But I can 't recommend the Hungry Bear. I visited Monday, July 16th, about 8:00 AM."
