"I took my 7 year old niece for lunch today. She ordered off kids menu quesadilla and rice. I ordered shrimp tacos. Just water, no other beverages. My niece wanted the white sauce for with the complimentary table nachos instead of the red sauce. They brought a small dish of white sauce to the table. When I got the bill for lunch it was $34.70! When I question the waiter, I was informed that the dip was $6.99 and they mistakenly charged me for drink for my niece which was included in the kiddie combo. Needless to say, I will never return. Don't go there if you don't want to be ripped off! The food was mediocre, and the place looks like a hole in the wall. Waiter returned $3 to me after I questioned him about the bill. My total lunch should have been around $20 bucks! Shame on them ! Don't go to this place to eat as they will rip you off. And the funny part is , I don't mind paying and tipping on good food and good service. Never again!"

I didn't receive my fish taco. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere as a 3 out of 5.

Fantastic! Service excellent and friendly. Great Monterrey Steak dish and more than I could eat. They have Molcajete too so I'll definitely be back.

It was dirty, ceiling fans black with mold, not even turned on. It was hot. The food was bland and overcooked. We saw a waiter twice. Never did get to ask for a second beer. Avoid at all costs. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 View menu

The atmosphere is comfortable, tidy, and clean. I’ve visited dozens of times, and I've never encountered any cleanliness issues, even in the restrooms. However, the best part about El Monterey is the staff. They are all exceptionally well-trained and genuinely eager to ensure guests have a wonderful experience!

If able, I wouldn't even give it one star. Waitress wasn't attentive whatsoever, and when she was, she was extremely rude. I've never had issues in the past, but today was horrible, including the food. I don't usually write negative reviews, and I understand people have off days as well as businesses themselves, but I will not be back.

Their menu has seen some great improvements! There are plenty of new options to explore. I tried the avocado rolls, chunky guacamole, and a margarita flight. The flight was unique and enjoyable. While the rolls were a bit too soft and soggy for my taste, the chunky guacamole was fantastic, along with the chips. I'll definitely be coming back! View menu

Came here hungry after a race, and the food was delicious! Had a wide variety on the menu and I went with a combo, it was so good. The portion sizes are nice and big, and the fish tacos are amazing! I would come here again. It was for the most part clean, but outdoor seating area was in a parking lot with some guy smoking right next to us. It wasn't that bad, the restaurant overall was great!

This was my second visit to this location since moving to Carrollton, and unfortunately, I was once again disappointed by the service. We had a great experience at the one in Tucker, Georgia, but this location was lacking. After waiting 10 minutes for cheese dip, we had to track someone down to ask for it. Just a minute later, our food arrived. The server was utterly unengaged and seemed to vanish for much of our visit. They didn't express any gratitude or check on us at all. Honestly, I've experienced better service at Chick-fil-A. I could have understood if the restaurant had been busy, but it wasn't. I'm unsure if we'll return.

"A friend and I tried this restaurant for the first time recently. I live in Frisco and had been to the food stall in Legacy West several times. I love the chicken tenders with honey mustard and the duck fat French fries. I've been following Tiffany since her appearance on Top Chef and couldn't wait to try this place. We visited on a Thursday right as they opened. Didn't have a reservation but the host graciously sat us. Our server Keanon was very professional, knowledgeable and proficient. I could tell he's worked at some very high end restaurants. He made several suggestions including the cornbread (who am I kidding, we were getting that anyway . The ambiance is nice. It's a great space, very intimate with a view into the kitchen and I love that. We ordered the cornbread and shrimp and grits to start. I can't say enough about the cornbread. Thick but not dense, sweet but not cake and the smoked butter and preserves are a lovely balance. The shrimp and grits were just okay. Next to the cornbread they were a waste of money and stomach space if I'm being honest. For my entree, I ordered the red fish and my friend ordered the jerk lamb chops. That's what I wanted but I'm off red meat and pork for now (but I tasted hers and OMG, delicious ! My red fish and crab fried rice were amazing and I had plenty to take home to enjoy for left overs! Reheats great. For dessert (we're greedy right? , Keanon recommended the candied yam bread pudding! My friend didn't like it but doesn't like bread pudding. I thought It was delicious and took it home to enjoy later. All in all, it's a pricey meal, but completely worth it. The space and service are immaculate. They have unisex bathrooms with everything you'd need including mouthwash! The food is worth every calorie. I have nothing bad to say. Outstanding meal! Great restaurant! If it was closer, I'd be there often."
