"We found this restaurant online in a small town we had visited lately. Unfortunately not my best dining experience. We sat down to eat our food, we had to prepare our own drinks and find our own utensils. When the food arrived it was barely warm and the vegetables were raw. Rice was ok but not flavorful. The egg rolls were ok but nothing special. Service was a two visit, bring food and bus table. And for two off the menu was over $40. And the only accept cash and check. They did have an ATM but the limit was, you guessed it, $40. Probably not a return for this one. I don't like giving less than stellar reviews but on occasion it will happen."

The food was fast and affordable. The taste was alright, but the portions were big! Convenient and will probably visit again.

Our oven died on Christmas Day. Moonstar was open. We picked up carry out and all agreed it was an excellent choice. Great food and no dishes. Christmas Miracle!

Ordered carryout for the first time. Crab Rangoon were good, as was sweet and sour chicken and beef and broccoli. Chow mei fun was possibly the best we’ve had in the Madison area. View menu

We got Moonstar takeout for the first time this week and loved it. The service was very friendly and the food was amazing! We had the beef and broccoli, dumplings, and egg drop soup which were all so simple and so tasty. We will definitely be back. It was a great price for the portions.

They get 5 stars for being able to make food so delicious without adding a bunch of salt. Restaurants should be rated by the least amount of salt they use. The sodium amount in food is getting out of control nowadays, but of course, they wouldn't have gotten the whole 5 stars if it wasn't delicious.

I recently ordered two servings of Crab Rangoon and two servings of Sesame Chicken for the first time, and they were delicious! However, when I placed the same order last night, the chicken was overcooked and inedible. We ended up throwing away two servings of Sesame Chicken, which was really disappointing! View menu

The food was excellent! I ordered the shrimp fried rice, which was delicious and packed with shrimp. I also tried the crab rangoon, which was decent, but I have to say I doubt there was any crab in it. What really detracted from the experience was that it was served without any red sauce, which really made it less enjoyable.

First time here, we have eaten at many Chinese restaurants in Stoughton and Madison and I give this place 5 stars. The food was phenomenal and we had great service. Food was hot and fresh; we dined in. Dining room was clean. The crab Rangoon were completely filled, not those dry ones that have barely any filling and are mostly wonton in all the corners. We won't go anywhere else now. My daughter who is pretty picky (she's 11) loved all of our food and that is a first.

"Date night Saturday night. Our reservation was for 7pm, but we were falling asleep, so luckily they were able to accommodate at 6:15. : Only a few tables were occupied. Tall ceilings, nice ambiance, would have maybe liked some additional lighting such as candle light (or faux candle light . The weather outside was lovely and they opened the doors which gave way to French doors with iron railing. they were pretty! Our server mentions that the menu changes pretty frequently so we may not see on the menu what we read online. Fine by me, as you know from my reviews, I 'm always up for a food adventure. I had a gin based cocktail which tasted balanced. Spring Mushroom Mousseline, Pistachio and Drunken Fruit with Date Pecan bread. Mousseline served in a glass votive like ramekin (much like you 'd see foie , was tasty, creamy, albeit a little gritty from the pistachios. The bread came like a small loaf, almost precut (could have been sliced all the way through , with macerated cherry/cranberry compote. For a vegetarian option like foie, we were pleased and ate the entire portion. Scotch Olives with Saffron Aioli. These olives were HOT. No joke. A bit of, could you please blow on this before I burn my tongue? But, they were briny on the inside, with a perfectly coated fried crunch outside, and so yum once the heat dissipated. Nice touch on the aioli. Only 4 of them unfortunately... that 's 2.25 each! Rosemary Grilled Lamb Chops with Seedy Broccolini Salad with Cherries. Wood grilled carrots and pomegranate molasses. $39. Nice presentation. Crunchy but soft carrots, broccolini cooked perfectly. Seemed a bit on the small side as far as meat goes. Two double lollipops. Cooked perfect, and beautiful gamey taste, just not too much bang for the buck. Grilled Sturgeon, warm rice salad, fiddlehead ferns, snap peas. Not a fan of the glaze ontop, the fish portion was fine, but lackluster. I 'm a huge sucker for fiddlehead ferns, and I also know that they can be overcooked within seconds, which these were just slightly overcooked, lacked the snap in your teeth you get from a bright green cooked correctly one. Oh well. With everything in one bite, it was good, just not amazing. We shared the Mexican hot chocolate warm brownie/cake in a cup. The foam was nice, but the inside really reminded me of a fudgy cake you can buy in the grocery store, add water, and nuke in the microwave. Next time, happy to go back just for drinks and apps. Skip the more expensive main courses on their menu."
