"What a find! Traversing NY to RI we enjoy taking the scenic route. We chose this place for convenience and timing along our route. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The menu was limited but offered a nice selection and they were enthusiastically amenable to any and all modifications. The pancakes were served with a 3 berry compote that seemed to derive its sweetness exclusively from the fruit, which is a big plus for me! The bacon was perfectly crisp. My wife enjoyed a version of her favorite omelet, which always includes spinach and cheese. After eating nearly half the omelet searching for the cheese we inquired with the waiter about the lack of cheese. He checked with the kitchen and they recognized that they omitted the cheese. They apologized and refired another omelet with cheese! Delicious and suffice to say, we had a very light dinner. If passing anywhere nearby in the future we will make it a point to stop!"

Terrible service, long wait time, several servers with only three busy tables to wait on. Server took order and messed it up with no remorse. They changed their menu, only one gf option. Disappointed, definitely a decline.

My initial reaction was that the cafe was a bit loud with the chatter and hubbub. In the end it was pretty easy to get used to. The food arrived quickly and was really really good. We got the chorizo quesadilla appetizer and that blew my socks off. I was almost full from sharing that one dish with my wife. The reason of the menu was just as good, highly recommend the Mountain cafe

One of my most special experiences while thru hiking the Appalachian Trail. Already had a breakfast sandwich but decided to stop by for a root beer float and breakfast wrap. The locals were so kind and I’m forever thankful for Nathan for buying my meal. The manager Jennifer was extremely kind, this is a very unique and special place. A MUST STOP place. Oh and the food was on point, 10/10! View menu

This great restaurant sits right off the Appalachian Trail where locals and thru hikers sit and enjoy this farm to table concept. This spacious restaurant is tucked away in the woods . The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We went with the Johnnie Cash skillet melted cheese over eggs and home fries with bacon just awesome. I also grabbed a cinnamon apple scone and it was melt in your mouth good this place was just yum.

Today we stopped by for brunch. We were greeted in the parking lot by patrons who were leaving and said it was just too loud for them. We entered and it’s such a cute place, but the noise level for 30 or more people was too high. We even observed staff answering the phone with one finger in their ear trying to take orders. My husband and I both ordered a skillet dish. The potatoes were sitting in grease and burned. We could not eat this portion. We would not return.

"I was traveling through town and wanted some breakfast so I stopped by. There are rules handwritten on paper all over the doors and was very confusing to understand. I was curious what they were so I took my time to read it all but I was rushed inside by the lady working there. It seems like this place is stuck in hardcore COVID restrictions although zi wasn't forced to wear a mask (if I was, I would have walked out anyways). While the place is clean, it is worn down and uncomfortable. I didn't want to sit at the counter but I was forced to wasn't going to argue. The menu was challenging to read. There was a combination of print and handwritten notes which I couldn't read because the menu was printed and laminated 30 years ago and is scratched to hell. I couldn't decipher what to order so I just asked for eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon. It did come with coffee. The lady that serves is also the cook so that was an interesting touch. The food came promptly but was an extremely small portion. The toast was burned so that wasn't enjoyable. The potatoes were the best part. The portion was so small I actually ordered a second portion to fulfill my hunger. Then the bill came. How the hell was this $29? I couldn't understand the menu and I didn't have the desire to argue it so I left cash and walked out. At $29, that means each meal was $14.50. How the hell are two eggs, two slices of toast, 4oz of potatoes and two strips of bacon $14.50?!I recommend everyone please read the other reviews they are accurate. I didn't have as an unpleasant experience as others but I opted to be very open minded and relaxed because I was hungry. This place is obviously run by an insanely LIBERAL person and I was afraid to say anything in fear of getting kicked out of the only diner in town, that I saw. I won't be back. There is a reason it is always empty."
