"My wife and I visited the pub for a weekday lunch around 1:15 and found it to be quite empty, giving us several options for seating. The service was attentive, and our food came out quickly. We both chose from their daily lunch specials. The onion rings were fantastic, while our main dishes were decent but not exceptional. The pub has a charmingly old ambiance, typical of a neighborhood spot. It may not be the ideal place for a romantic dinner or a special occasion, but it’s perfectly suitable for a casual lunch. Plus, anything cooked with Guinness is bound to be tasty!"

The clam chowder was excellent. The shepherd's pie and fish and chips were decent, but not extraordinary. The waitress was lovely. View menu

here recommended for a local. beside some average food (club sandwas), the beer selection is quite good. but the noise level is high and the staff was really rude.

Went here on recommendation for a local. Besides some average food (club sandwhich), the beer selection is quite good. However the noise level is high and the staff was really rude.

no tvs, only Irish comfort, drinks and authentic Irish music in the night. burgers are great, and they can not beat the stew and the brain cake in winter. somehow the guinness here tastes a little better than any other. View menu

No TVs, just Irish comfort food, drinks, and authentic Irish music at night. Burgers are great, and you can't beat the stew and shepherd's pie in the winter. Somehow the Guinness here tastes just a bit better than every where else.

We so enjoyed our visit to Mr. Dooley's. Didn't even mind that there was 50+ inches of snow on the ground once we had our warm filling meal at Mr. Dooley's. Have already recommended it to a number of friends. Loved the food the Irish Sampler was incredible. Our server, Pamela, was great we could have talked to her for hours just to hear the Irish in her voice. When we return to Boston we will definitely be making a return visit to Mr. Dooley's!!!

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
