"Oaklandia makes one of the best breakfast sandwiches on the planet. The key for me is the fresh baked, soft ciabatta roll. It's the perfect amount of bread for the sandwich and just the right density to highlight the ingredients and melt in your mouth. The egg is always perfectly cooked and the rest of the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Start with a base of spinach or bacon (or both), egg, and cheese; and don't overlook the extras like avocado and pepperoncini. Do yourself a favor and try the cilantro aioli; it's magical (unless of course you can't do cilantro). They make great coffee drinks and baked goods too! Best of all, the owner and staff are incredible and make you feel at home. I love supporting this business not just because their food is great, but because they're incredible people too."

My husband and I love going to this place whenever we're in Oakland midday. THE BBQ CHICKEN DOWN SOUTH SANDWICH IS SO, SO FIRE (it's the sauce 100% . We also enjoy the shaded outdoor seating, friendly service, the house-made breads and baked goods, and the fact that it's local Black-owned (it was student-run at some point . Come support local, and enjoy coffee/pastries/brunch!

I have been to this nice cafe several times when grocery shopping in the neighborhood. It is an excellent, local alternative to the larger corporate cafes. The coffee and food are fresh and tasty. Staff are friendly, attentive, and professional. COVID protocols are followed, and the cafe is very clean, inside and out. If you are in the neighborhood for a medical appointment, shopping, or just want to try out a new cafe, visit Oaklandia. You will have a happy experience.
