"6:15 reservation was on time on News Years Eve with a dimly lit, quiet table for 2. Quick greeting of water, drinks, menu specials, and introduction with Cameron. Note: they were out of halibut. Many options on the menu and we decided on the Manhattan clam chowder and a chopped Cesar salad to start. 30 minute wait and never saw Cameron. The avoidance was noticeable. The salad was full of flavor but served at room temperature and a large bowl of tasty chowder but no bread was available this night. I missed it with the chowder! It was a slow start but the main course of scallops was delicious and the pork chop a delight! To full for dessert but offered 3 choices. We will return but go with several small plates to share."

"We got two appetizers including the burrata and I can't remember the other one and my fiance got the chicken parmesan and I got the chicken piccata. The chicken piccata sauce was disappointing disappointing at best it tasted a little like dish detergent and the piece of chicken was pale and under seasoned almost boiled honestly laid within the pasta. Such a shame the desserts were fabulous"

"I made the reservation, almost a week in advance and arrived on time. We had guests from Europe with us, and they were alarmed that we waited almost 45 minutes to be seated. In my reservation, I had requested a table along the window with a view of the ocean. What we got was a table in the corner with a view of the fence. And that was after a 45 minute wait. The server seemed very inexperienced, though she was very nice. She took our order and still we did not. have the tortillas and salsa that is normally brought to the table even before we ordered. She brought those things after we asked, and then said I'll bring you plates, but she never did. Until we had to ask again as the tortillas were cooling. Our guest ordered a beer and she brought it to the wrong table and they refused it and she took it away. We had to ask again for the beer. The most disappointing thing was not only where we were seated, but the fact that we were not able to even eat our complementary tortillas and salsa until an hour after our reservation time. The food we ordered was good, but in general the experience was a negative one."

"This was our first time. The atmosphere is very nice. A classy restaurant with a nice vibe. The ocean views are fantastic. Our server was excellent, friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. The menu selection was very good with something for everyone. The food was perfectly prepared. My wife and I split a steak from one of the specials. It came with perfectly prepared green beans and a loaded baked potatoe. We also split a salad. Everything was prepared perfectly. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality of the food and the upscale atmosphere. We consider our experience to be one of the best restaurants in the area."

"The Spoon Trade in Grover Beach has been added to our destination stops while visiting the Central Coast. We love this area for their wineries and outstanding restaurants. Our dinner at The Spoon Trade reinforced our need to continue to lodge in the Arroyo Grande/Pismo Beach area. The restaurant is small but does offer nice patio seating. Our server, Jonet was absolutely top notch. She was personable and very efficient in expediting service. We also had the honor of visiting with the owner, Brooke. She made us feel welcome and part of the family. The menu is seasonal as they source locally for their menu products. Everything seems to be made from scratch in-house and you can taste it in every bite. We started with grilled sourdough bread that came with butter and a garlic oil. It was the best sourdough bread I have experienced. My wife had the Kitchen Noodle Soup and I ordered the chicken and waffles. The soup was outstanding. It had an egg that was infused with the broth and very tender pork belly with a mountain of noodles. My chicken was crunchy, moist and loaded with flavor. It epitomized the term finger licken chicken . The waffle was both sweet and savory and maintained its crunch. I added some of their homemade hot sauce to the chicken which sent this dish to Flavor Town. We are so impressed with this restaurant we plan to bring our wine group next time we are in town. The Spoon Trade in Grover Beach, CA is a very easy 5 star review. It is definitely a place you need to visit."
