"I like how some of these 1 star reviews are from people that are wannabe Gordon Ramsay’s lol. I’ve been to numerous omakase’s and guess what? The chefs don’t talk much like Omakase Yume. For me it was not my first rodeo. I’ve also been to other Michelin restaurants where you don’t even meet the chefs or interact with them. To clarify there were no bugs around the restaurant, no hair in the food, and lastly the server did not rush us or the other couple at all. I just wanted to get some of the facts straight since I have more than 1-3 reviews under my belt. The restaurant is small so it is limited seating. I was able to converse with the chef and his wife. She was the main server for us. Fish quality was exceptional. You do have the option of adding on extra pieces to your main menu. They’re different prices depending on what they are. Prices are standard and within the usual range for 1 Michelin star restaurants in Chicago. I was here awhile ago but I would go again. I’ll post some accurate pictures so that people can get an idea."

Some of the best sushi I've ever had...maybe even the best. Great, intimate place.

Wonderful experience. Like being back in Japan. The service was phenomenal and the food was exquisite. I can still remember every bite. Really pricey, but worth the memory.

Overall, just meh . Every course/piece was OK, but none were great or memorable. When we walked out, I could not recall a single piece that I wanted to tell anyone about it and none of the pieces elicited wow . I would not return under any circumstances.

Yume is good, but not great. I liked the very Japanese small sushi bar omakase experience but the price is exorbitant and the food is good but uninspired. I can think of a handful of sushi restaurants off the top of my head most within walking distance of this one that offer better sushi and better value. We both love sushi and eat a lot of it, but Yume is a place we've crossed off our list. View menu

Wow! Chef Park truly deserves his Michelin Star. The Omakase was absolutely exceptional—it's the best sushi I've ever had! The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived until we departed. While some reviewers mentioned feeling rushed, I found the timing and pacing to be just right. Chef Park is a remarkably humble chef, and his talents are more than worthy of the Michelin recognition. We will undoubtedly return time and time again!

However, I have a couple of minor complaints (aside from the attire issue). Firstly, it's a pet peeve of mine when a Michelin-starred restaurant charges extra for sparkling water. It’s just a bottle of San Pellegrino, especially given the price of the tasting menu—it feels unreasonable. Secondly, it would have been nice if the chef had introduced himself at least. I don’t need a long conversation, but a simple welcome would have been appreciated. The only interaction we had was when he named each type of fish as he plated them for each couple. That said, the incredible quality of the sushi more than made up for these shortcomings.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
