On The Border Mexican Grill

I had an early dinner with nikki and her service was amazing! the manager nick was very friendly and checked on our table to make sure we're good looking out. the food was delicious! the prices are amazingly cost-effective. would recommend this restaurant and server in any case. thanks!

This was my first time in this establishment. My waitress Nicole was wonderful. I came for the $2 Margaritas and i can say that it was delicious, just what I needed. I had one on the rocks and one frozen and both were good. The food was also on point. The manager came by and we spoke candidly. Overall my visit was superb and I will be by again soon.

the new management has made a big difference! we quit last summer because it was dirty, eating was not good and the service was worse. we decided to give it a chance tonight and are glad that we did. they can immediately see a difference in cleanliness! the food was fantastic and the service was even better! nice job to the new manager, we will definitely come and recommend it to our friends!

We had dinner at the restaurant tonight and had an incredible experience! Our server, Makayla, was wonderfully kind, sweet, and professional. She really made a difference by keeping our drinks topped off and even offered us drinks to take home. Additionally, she made sure that the kitchen accommodated a few of our food preferences. The food was fantastic, and the service was equally impressive. Great job, OtB!

Our server Marcus was great although service was a bit slow. The restaurant was like 1/3 full on a Saturday night, it was not busy. They comped a dessert they recommended that we weren't crazy about without us asking. Everyone we interacted with were great (host, server, and manager). I wasn't prepared for the type of food they served, that may be my fault. I would try it again. I may come back for beer if it's cheaper than the mixed drinks. View menu

This isn’t the best spot for Mexican (or Tex-Mex) food in Athens. The fajitas were served somewhat cold; the shredded cheese didn’t melt on the dish, and the flour tortillas were thick and tough. The salsa was on the spicier side. The $2 tacos came with just meat and cheese, while the Chicken Tortilla soup was tasty. However, overall, the food had a notably “salty” flavor and didn’t offer much else. Our server was friendly, but the prices are steep, and the food feels far from authentic.

The food was really good, but the service was terrible. The hostess wasn’t friendly in the slightest, in fact, none of the staff were very friendly. Ordered drinks with no ice and they both came out with ice in them which is forgivable but kinda annoying. Then when we got our food and had finished our drinks, they didn’t bring us a new drink until we were finished eating. And that would be understandable if it were busy but it was really slow. Just not very good on speed or customer service in my opinion.

This visit was by far the most enjoyable dining experience I’ve ever had. The manager, Nick, is the best—an incredibly upbeat and charismatic gentleman who truly made an impression on me. Both Nick and his staff genuinely care about their guests and their experience at the restaurant. Our server, Marques, along with Nick’s regular rounds to check on diners, made the whole evening absolutely wonderful. The dining experience was top-notch, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.
