"Finally! Truly fantastic takeout, and Italian takeout at that! I ordered takeout while the kids were still at school, wanting something really tasty but unable to quit working long enough for a meal out. Osterio Rago came up in a generic Google search, and I’m so glad it did! The restaurant was a bit hard to find, tucked quietly in an alley within an impossibly busy downtown. The man and woman at the counter were both super sweet, genuinely thankful and inviting. I ordered Bruschetta and Tuscan Salmon, the former among the best I’ve ever had, and the latter perched atop a bed on linguine with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and lots of garlic. Both were truly phenomenal, and big enough to satisfy my early dinner and midnight snack cravings. Magnifico!"

The pasta here is absolutely delicious! I had a dish with olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms. The staff is very attentive and diligent about checking the ingredients for dietary needs.

Beautiful hidden gem. Super friendly staff make you feel like part of the family. Our kind waitress (Lauren) gave us great food recommendations and the kitchen did not disappoint. Portions were responsible and allowed for comfortably eating a shared appetizer, a meal and a dessert without overstuffing yourself. The prices are reasonable considering the from scratch glory that is the food.

If you're not aware that it's located behind the main area off Kirkwood, you might easily walk past it and miss out on the best Italian food in town. The Eggplant Rolotini is a standout dish—you won't find it anywhere else, and it's absolutely delicious (check out the picture!). The Lasagna is my personal favorite in the area. It's easy to overlook, but you'll be really glad you didn’t pass it up!

My husband and I learned about Osteria Rago when we brought home their fresh pasta from the Bloomington Woolery Farmers Market. It was delicious, but the dinner we enjoyed there this afternoon was delectable. The bruschetta, fettuccine, and wood fired pizza were perfection, and we could not have asked for more thoughtful, friendly, and professional staff. Could this be our new favorite spot for Italian? I will always turn to Osteria for any Italian craving! The service and food have consistently exceeded my expectations. I finally had the opportunity to take my husband with me, and we enjoyed drinks and an appetizer. We tried the fire-roasted tomato vesta, which was incredible. As my husband put it, “This is incomparable.” I give it a 10/10 and highly recommend it for authentic, genuine Italian cuisine!

Finer Italian cuisine, but good lord their food is tasty. Reservations are recommended. I had the cheese stuffed ravioli with the house sauce which is all hand made there at the restaurant and it was hands down the best ravioli I've ever had. My wife ordered the tortilini with Salmon also tasty, but a lot of sauce. They have an up scale wine selection, a broad selection of cheeses, and good breads. The entrance is in between alley way.

The best Italian restaurant in town, period. If you are looking for a delicious finger licking meal of spaghetti, pasta, or pizza, look no further. We enjoyed the polenta and caesar salad as appetizers. Our entrees were fantastic the beautifully plated eggplant parmesan was a cheesy, gooey and delicious! The chicken marsala was cooked to perfection. The best part of the entire experience was our server, she was 10 stars!! We will be back again, and again!! View menu

Osteria is my favorite Italian restaurant in town! We went there on Friday night and the seats were full. I’d recommend make a reservation as early as possible as it’s really popular! The food is really authentic and delicious. Love the house made pasta (Alfredo is my favorite! and the pizzas never disappoint us! The portion of the pizzas are very shareable. There’s a small parking lot right outside the restaurant, check it before you pay for on street parking. They now take customers temperature if you’d like to dine-in.

The first two photos show the Tomatoes Vesta, our appetizer, which was just as delicious as it was beautiful! It featured fire-roasted cherry tomatoes, lemon ricotta, arugula, a red wine balsamic reduction, and their homemade focaccia (which is a delightful treat on its own, crafted from their perfected recipe). I honestly needed a moment to savor it all and couldn't help making blissful "mmm mmmm" sounds while enjoying the dish. As for the focaccia, I can't decide whether to describe it as a pillow or as a cloud melting in your mouth!

"not sure how to start with an honest assessment at all. birthday dinner for me and the woman. two burgers ordered, medium well tempos. the burgers received them and they were well done, dry and a bit carved. the server stopped when the food was delivered and she did not see it again until it was time for the check. had a general manager there in the meantime to appeal to the burger. asked the gm what they thought that the temperature of the burger he was paused (as if he tried to find out what I ordered) and came back with a medium well answer. burger had zero pink in him (see in the pictures.) he said nothing else, not I'm sorry, is what they ordered, or how can we do that better for them. Nothing. I took the plate, shook his head and went away. I can't even put this stuff up if I wanted. had the jack, mentioned eating to the server, they asked us if we wanted dessert, we went back and that was it. no birthday or a good night. we felt kind of like we had done something wrong, no matter what, honestly, if they were looking for good quality food and great customer service, they don't come to pittsburgh blue. they can get a lot better food everywhere too much better preisen! we have been driving for years to pittsburgh blue, especially the location edina and the quality/customer experience have been falling for years. why did we go back? big question, we advise that we hope for this complete dinner (customer experience and food quality) that we have many years ago. by the way, pittsburgh blue also calculates a 5% safety/benefit fee, not sure why!? I have not seen anything justifying a complaint (sanitizing, etiquette, etc.)"
