"I was not impressed with this restaurant. It came highly recommended, but looking back, the person who recommended it was a local who likely knows the owner. I ordered the classic burger medium, but it arrived well done—hard and dry. The fries were just average. Additionally, it’s not a good choice for seniors or those with disabilities, as we had to navigate a steep flight of stairs to reach the dining room. I should have waited until we returned to Burlington for dinner. Lesson learned!"

Great food and service. Had the pesto chicken which was very tasty. I would like to see more and larger pieces of chicken in it. Local beer on tap. Had a staring contest with the moose on the wall. He won. Service: Dine in Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. They offer a variety of vegetarian options that are clearly labeled, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. Additionally, there are gluten-free choices that are also well marked. I dined in for dinner, and the price per person was very reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 stars!

"I use to dream about this place before it was acquired by new owners, so it was a pretty heartbreaking experience to realize that the current VL is a sacrilegiously americanized version of its founding Parisian roots. What enchanted me about the old VL was the feeling of being in France when I 'd immediately open the door: warm steam from the oven would fog my glasses temporarily and the aromas of leavened breads signaled joyous excitement. My favorites were their staple croissants that had exquisite inner structure and were flaky af. I 'm from San Francisco and finding a comparable contending croissant is difficult when compared to old VL. They had an eclectic product mix of recluse French pastries such as caneles and cute chocolate powdered truffles. It was truly a gem. When I walked into the new order establishment, I found myself incredibly saddened by the complete dissolvent of the bakery part of VL. There were no baguettes, wholesome grainy breads, eclectic Parisian fare, or even croissants (they 're served on Fridays and Saturday only ! I was met in place with a disappointing short list of baked good options that amounted to cinnamon buns done three different ways. Their pastries were covered with the same monotone flavor profile of coated sugar (something I 'd expect out of a grocery store bakery. In addition, they were burnt! Plainly burnt! Not charred as if kissed by the flame, but brutally burnt. As if my mouthful of sugar wasn 't bad enough, the burned parts of my pastry were a nice way of getting me to drink my flat latte. My recommendation to the new owner: change the name. It seems this place has undergone a new perverse astray from its founding. They created a more sit-down food menu of breakfast and dinner options, I didn 't try those after my quick and traumatic pastry ordeal. Perhaps they excel in that area, however, this place is not the bakery it once was and seems like it doesn 't have the chops to maintain the high standard of baking skills its former owners possessed. Recommendations: scrap the pastries and just focus on sit-down menu items or change the name. It 's a hard act to follow when your restaurant is named after the previous tenants."
