"My partner and I both ordered N13 (if I recall), beef pho. We were alarmed because upon first taste it was apparent chicken stock or powder was used, and the dish itself tasted nothing like pho. After a couple more bites it became clear that something was not right, as it tasted overwhelmingly of chicken powder or Costco chicken stock and like beef powder was added as an afterthought. It was also very oily, unlike any pho we ever had, and left us feeling heavy after a few bites. We decided to give this place a chance despite some negative reviews, and I myself am from California where there’s lots of good pho so I am familiar with what it tastes like… this is not it.We left about 20-25 minutes ago, and my partner feels sick like he used to after having maruchan instant chicken ramen in college which I believe confirms our theory some powder is being used. It certainly was not due to msg (if they use it), as we use it fairly frequently in our own cooking. We could only take a couple bites before we left, but the service is fine and the place is clean and has a nice casual atmosphere."

Area near the restrooms and kitchen was dirty. The Pho was extremely oily I had never seen pho like that and couldn’t eat it.

The pho here is fantastic, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The handmade tea and lemonade are amazing as well. I truly enjoyed my experience!

Pros: Inexpensive, convenient, comforting food, excellent takeout option, rarely crowded. Cons: Service could be better, and the food is a bit bland. View menu

The person running the front of house had no idea of what he was doing. he was definitely not properly trained. Orders got mixed up and customers were angry.

This place is awful. Not only do they have rats and touch your ready to eat food with barehands! But we caught them prepping food outside on the ground even letting the chicken drop on the ground and pick it back up! I DO NOT RECOMMEND eating here! You may get sick! Don’t eat here. Walked in and asked for a seating of 1. Girl said to sit anywhere. Sat down for over 10 mins and was not even greeted or given water. I had to get up and ask about service. The girl was happy to take my order before paying, but allowed another person of a different ethnic background to eat first and then pay. Never eat here if you’re in DC. View menu

The restaurant has incredibly poor service. They often seem understaffed, and whether the staff is friendly can be a hit or miss. The tables are frequently dirty and are often left unattended with used dishes and food remnants. There are also often flies or other insects in the establishment. On the positive side, the pho broth is consistently good, and the music is nice. It seems like you have to take the good with the bad. There aren't any other pho restaurants nearby, which I think is why this place gets a pass. I sincerely hope they can make improvements.

Not good. It’s really fallen off recently, especially service-wise and my food had hair in it. They never check if you would like more water, which is a necessity with how salty and oily the broth is. Additionally, they only brought out half our order and we had to ask them to bring the rest. 45 minutes later our appetizers come out. My roll had hair in and I requested to just be comped for the one roll with hair in it because if they have such issues with cleanliness that a hair can end up rolled inside their summer rolls then i don’t want another one of them. They did not understand that I guess because they brought out another roll and refused to let me send it back. We also got the bubbl...

"I typically always forget to write google reviews but this place deserves every word I have to say. I found this spot because the luggage storage app, bounce, sent me here to hold my bags while I toured apartments for the day. Before I left my bags, I decided to try a quiche which was so much better than expected. Growing up in my father's deli, I tend to have high standards for most food because I can usually recognize good ingredients so safe to say I was definitely pleasantly surprised with my quiche. Around mid-day I fell walking around in NoMa and severely hurt my knee. Rather than continuing my tours for the day I decided to come back to pick up my bags and potentially go to the airport to arrive early for my flight. When I got to Old City Market and Oven, they actually gave me ice for my knee and let me sit downstairs uninterrupted. While I was downstairs the cashier told me to call the number in case I needed anything so they can come down and help because they didn't want me walking up the stairs for anything stupid. To say they were sweet was understatement, the level of care I received felt like I was in one of my dad's restuarants growing up which in my opinion is not something you see these days. I decided to have a pizza while I waited because another customer said it was amazing. Even though I was skeptical due to the paper menu, they really did their big one with that pear pizza. This spot really made my day and it makes me happy establishments at this tier still exist."

"For a special occasion, make a reservation at Michelin star Reverie, a small restaurant inside a Georgetown alley. If you 're lucky, you 'll meet Poppy the Alley Cat that is taken care of by the community, including by the staff at Reverie. My wife dined at Reverie on a Thursday evening. Here 's our experience. 1) Experience: It 's a Michelin star restaurant so expect superb service. It 's clear that the chef is passionate about his craft and his passion is contagious. Every staff member from our server to the chefs who brought out our food, everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. Throughout the stay, we were given wet towels to wash our hands in between snacks. Our water glasses were kept full. If we really loved a dish, our server would point out elements or teach us tips on how to use similar flavors at home. The journey begins with savory snacks and ends with sweet ones. Since the menu changes often, a copy of your dinner 's meu is given to you to take home at the end. It 's a perfect memento, especially if you 're celebrating something special. 2) Food: Reverie 's menu changes, but whatever you 're served will be innovative, fresh, and full of flavor. It 's also a tasting menu. When we went in May 2025, the menu included 17 different bites/dishes. The meal starts and ends with three small bites. The next nine dishes mainly included seafood and one was elk. Every dish is presented on a design-forward plate and came in full color and plated perfectly. A sign of a good restaurant is perfection in every dish and there wasn 't a bad one. We thoroughly enjoyed every single one, but our favorites were the Scallop, which comes in a fun sunchoke cracker sandwich, Hiramasa with juniper and caviar, and the Carolina Gold Rice. 3) Drink: Reverie 's drink menu comes with cocktails named after neighborhoods from around the world, wine, and other options. The Golden Gai is now my wife 's favorite Old Fashioned. She ordered two. For a sweeter refreshing cocktail, get the Old San Juan. For a refreshing, but sherry-forward cocktail, I recommend the Roma Notre. The dinner begins with chilled tea for all and it is very tasty. Savor it. At the end, you 'll have an opportunity to order more tea. Each blend is unique. I recommend any of it. 4) Price: It 's $245 a person for the tasting menu and additional prices for drinks, but for a quality dinner experience, it could be more expensive. We found it to be a fair price, especially for a special occasion. 5) Space: It 's beautiful! The design is not ornate, but rather simple, making it classy. There are two unisex restrooms in the back. When you sit down, you 're offered small stools to place your phones, belongings, etc. 6) Neighborhood: Inside an alley, there 's much to explore nearby from other top restaurants, cafes, and historic homes. We usually find street parking nearby by the Georgetown Waterfront Park. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
