"I really don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I was extremely disappointed with the establishment. Their hours have them opening at 11:30am, and I drove up around 11:40 and walk in. Was greeted, but told they were not open yet. No big deal, I asked when they were planning to open because the workplace all wanted to eat from there today. I was told around 12:30, and I said okay, I’ll try back then! I called them at 12:45, and a lady answered. I asked if they were open for business now, and she just said back bluntly, no we aren’t. I politely asked if I can place an order now for when they are open, or not, and she pretty rudely said “no you can’t.” So I said back “okay” and she says, “uh huh, bye!” And hangs up. Let’s just say I decided quickly I wasn’t trying there again today, or anytime soon I’m old school, I guess. I’m big on professionalism, and being polite, as a business owner and definitely didn’t feel like they wanted our business. "

I've never been disappointed with this place. The food is consistently cooked to perfection and always brings back memories of my mom's home-cooked meals. I highly recommend visiting and enjoying the experience!

I believe the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes. I recommend sampling the sides before making a purchase; the potato salad was overly sweet for my taste. However, the catfish and cabbage collar were quite good. I would suggest giving it another try.

The food is simply great. Totally worth the drive up from Woodbridge, VA. I had the brisket, Mac n cheese, and sweet potato casserole. My wife, the catfish, collards and cabbage, and Mac n cheese. This review is for breakfast. Overall it was edible but nothing I would go back for at this time. The over easy eggs were served fried, the bacon and potatoes were precooked and sitting in a steam tray. The pancakes smelled really good but were soggy. The service was friendly but seemed slow for how many people were working and the fact that so much food is pre cooked.

The food was great, but the wait time is very long. Not sure if they forgot about my order, because people that came after me who placed their order inside got theirs before me, but that's neither here or there. The staff is really nice and everything is made to order ????? I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. I was very disappointed with getting only two shrimp and four pieces of fish. I was expecting two fish and a handful of shrimp for the $18 I paid. The sides weren't my cup of tea either, but the fries were great. The tartar sauce is off, as well as the potato salad and macaroni. Choose something else!
