"We heard about this place on Instagram when we were getting ready to move to Taylor. It’s awesome that they repurposed the old high school with this restaurant and a few others. This restaurant is in the band hall so there are instruments hanging around: a flute and clarinet lamp, and en tables that are drums. Now for the food. I have never had fried green tomatoes so we got that as an appetizer. It was topped with goat cheese and jalapeño jelly and let me tell you! It was so good. I got the shrimp tacos that come with sriracha mayo and I think mango salsa. The shrimp are blackened and cooked to perfection. They have some pies and cheesecakes in a glass case that you can order to go or when you are dining. They all looked amazing and I can’t wait to come back and try some of them."

I don’t usually give 5 stars. But this place is great. The food is good, fairly priced, with fantastic ambiance. Imagine a converted high school band hall!

I waited 25 minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was only a third full. After that, I had to wait another 20 minutes for tea, which tasted like plain water. We ended up sending it back. There's no reason to pay £2.50 for something that just tasted like water.

This place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner ALL DAY. Yes, you read that correctly. ALL DAY! You want pancakes, bacon eggs at 7pm? You got it! Craving some chicken fried steak at 9am? Done! My daughter and I LOVE always share their breakfast board. It comes with 8 pancakes, 8 french toast, bacon, sausage fruit!!

Great place in Taylor...converted Band Hall. Friendly people and very attentive waiting staff. Like all others, they had tables, but had to manage by not personnel. Wait for a table for brunch on Saturday. The food was good. Deserts okay. Gets 4 stars for options in Taylor and friendly waiting staff and crew. We are included Bill pic View menu

This is a fantastic spot in Taylor with an interesting backstory. The food was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. However, I was a bit disappointed that they were out of loaded potatoes and Alfredo sauce for the fettuccine Alfredo. Another minor annoyance was the constant presence of flies, which made it a struggle to keep them away from our food and drinks. Despite these issues, I would definitely come back again.

We absolutely love dining here, and I always forget to leave a review (most likely because I'm too busy enjoying the food). I've tried nearly everything on the menu, but I want to especially highlight their desserts. The banana split pie is a must-try! The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is always laid-back. In a small town like Taylor, it's uncommon to have a bad experience. For the entrée, I highly recommend the salmon croquette.

FAR... exceeded our expectations in every way! The restaurant is located in a renovated school band room in an unexpectedly charming area. It's very unique! The locals and staff were incredibly friendly. Despite having a small team, the wait time was minimal. The food was absolutely delicious. This comes from a registered nutritionist with a discerning palate. I regret not taking pictures of our desserts (we had a slice of chocolate buttermilk cake and caramel apple cake). View menu

Saturday night dinner. Had to wait 35 minutes for a seat because the kitchen was backed up. Once we had our seat we were greeted by a waitress who said it was her first night. Well, she did a great job tonight! She was friendly and attentive. I ordered a shiner and was told they were out but I was turned on to an awesome porter instead. I had chicken fried steak and I loved it. The jalapeño gravy was awesome. Side of fries and Mac n cheese rounded out the rest of my dinner. I enjoyed our meal, even though we had to wait a bit. Total time from arrival to departure was about 1 1/2 hours. TLDR; Friendly service, great food. Give them a try

For my first experience at Plowman’s Kitchen, I decided to try the Cheeseburger Club Sandwich, and I was not disappointed! Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The burger allowed you to choose your type of bread on the side, and with the first bite, you could definitely tell the bun was fresh. The club sandwich was among the best I’ve ever had. I could only manage to eat half of it because they packed so much inside. The bacon was crispy and freshly fried, not that rubbery, microwave kind. I also love how they’ve repurposed the restaurant; it has such a unique charm with band instruments and eclectic decor adorning the walls. The service was excellent, and you can’t beat the prices!
