"Our server was excellent, providing top-notch service. After dinner, we decided to bowl, but unfortunately, the experience was not great. The lanes were not well-maintained and felt bumpy, making it difficult for occasional bowlers like us to enjoy a decent game. At one point, all the bowling balls got stuck at the pins, and we had to wait around 20 minutes for someone to retrieve them. Despite the bowling issues, we're eager to return and try some of the other activities, perhaps with a better bowling experience on a different level."

Took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence. Food was mediocre. Place was pretty loud. Service was pretty bad and the place wasn't busy at 6:30.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday for dinner, drinks and fun! Food was decent, service was good. 3 hour wait for bowling but lots of other games to play in the meantime. Will probably return! View menu

So much fun! I always have a great time at Punch Bowl! It was exciting to celebrate the New Year here with a balloon drop, drinks, food and friends. A lot of fun. Far enough away from the club scene, but lively enough to keep us going until midnight!

Server waited for us to call him numerous amount of time and he didn't swing by often to ask anything additional. He was great but I would've aimed for a little more attentiveness. Bowling was great. Some issues but lady came over in timely manner and switched us over.

Great concept. Ordered the Shrimp Burger and it was meh. French Fries are really good. Waiter for food service was excellent, but no one came around to check in on us upstairs when we were bowling. We had to go find someone to get us drinks. I recommend having someone walking around and checking in on groups. View menu

We visited late on a Sunday when the kitchen was about to close. I recommend going earlier during the week, so you have the chance to try everything on the menu, including their famous wings, which we unfortunately missed. However, the service was great, and the best part is that you can play games afterward!

We went for my friends birthday and the service was great we made a reservation ahead of time was seared quickly it is a first come first serve for bowling so we put our name down as soon as we got there and waited a hour , so we went ahead and ordered the food 3/4 of us didn’t care for our food . The server was very nice and helpful with picking drinks even gave my friend a free drink for her birthday ! After we did an hour of bowling which was fun and good priced it was a fun atmosphere and fun music .

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
