"Our family of seven, spanning four generations from Texas, enjoyed dinner at the Purple Pie Place while visiting Custer and exploring the Black Hills area. Upon seeing the array of pie options, my daughter and I decided to share a sandwich and indulge in a slice of pie. We tried the Turkey Panini and found it to be delicious. The rest of our family ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, Mac n Cheese with Bacon, Chili-Cheese Dog, and Chicken Salad Sandwich, all of which were also tasty. However, the real standout was the homemade pies. We savored the Peanut Butter Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, and Strawberry Rhubarb Jalapeno Pie. The Strawberry Rhubarb in particular was absolutely delicious. My daughter couldn't get enough of the Peanut Butter Pie. Our grandsons enjoyed their ice cream in waffle cones, describing it as yummy. We were so impressed with the food that we decided to dine at the Purple Pie Place again on our last night in Custer. Once more, the pies did not disappoint. The server was friendly, and we were pleased to see the same person both nights. The restaurant itself is charming and immaculately clean. We highly recommend dining at the Purple Pie Place!"

Wanted to try the rhubarb jalapeño pie but it was sold out so I tried the rhubarb-it was delicious. Husband tried the peanut butter pie and loved it. We went back the next evening, I had the huckleberry pie which was good and my husband had another slice of peanut butter pie-he didn’t want to try anything else because he said the peanut butter pie was very delicious. There seems to always be a line out front which should say everything you need to know. The pies are so good and especially the chicken pot pie was very delicious. Lots of vegetables and chicken and pieces of crust inside and on top instead of a complete crust. Definitely would recommend. I had a piece of boom berry pie that is strawberry and rhubarb with lots of other berries inside. It was so delicious with ice cream on top.

I had a terrible experience where the service was rude and abrupt. The server brings the food and everything comes out overpriced for what it was. My wife had a simple BLT. But the bacon was rancid. I asked him when he last made the bacon and he told me that morning. Mind you it’s 3:00 pm and bacon is only supposed to sit out for two hours after being cooked or even uncooked . After she took a bite she asked him to take it off the bill because it made her nauseated and she could no longer hold an appetite. The server argues that we have to pay for it because he had to throw it away. It was the ENTIRE SANDWICH besides a bite. He was rude and loud. And had no remorse for treating us this way....
