"Last weekend, we had the pleasure of dining at Railway Cafe in Norwood, Missouri, and it was absolutely fantastic! We both chose the Rail Pass Special, which features open-faced, genuine roast beef on bread topped with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It was delicious! I also got a side of tasty green beans and a bowl of cottage cheese. Nick, along with his sisters, in-laws, and relatives, exemplified true down-home hospitality and warmth. The cafe, although small, was cozy and exuded a strong sense of home-cooked meals and family atmosphere. The establishment was impeccably clean, and the portion sizes were much larger than the prices would suggest. We left feeling completely satisfied. If you have any room left, definitely try the homemade chocolate cream pie—it’s a must! A huge thank you to Nick's family for making us feel so welcome. We can't wait to visit again soon!"

The café is small but cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home-cooked family dining. The restaurant was spotless, and the portion sizes were generous for the price. We left completely satisfied and full! Don’t miss out on trying the homemade chocolate cream cake if you have room for it—it's a must! A big thank you to the Nick family for making us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to come back and eat here again soon!

"I've been to this restaurant several times. The food is always good and sometimes great. We went there last night and there was plenty of seating for outside so we asked to sit there cause we generally don't eat indoors these days. They had several of empty tables and went to seat us at the one high table they had which is ok if you are at a sports bar or they have no other seating but we weren't asked if we wanted to be at a high table with stools rather than a comfortable normal table. We asked to sit at a low table and of course they let us, but it would show a bit of caring to ask first. Small details but things you notice when you have worked on the industry for 10 years. Later when we ordered drinks we ordered 2 normal sodas and 2 diet. When the waitress brought them I double checked because I had a feeling that she would confuse them (sometimes you get this feeling and have to check) and she said that she actually separated them on the tray to make sure she got them right. The reason I checked is cause my wife is diabetic so she has to avoid sugary drinks and if she has any sugar she has to know so she can adjust her insulin intake to avoid serious medical issues. I also get diet so if she ever needs to take a sip from my drink it's not an issue. One of our friends drank her soda and right away she said this one is diet. She really dislikes diet sodas and can tell right away. So then my wife took her test strips she uses to test her blood sugar to test her soda (diabetics will tell you how they check) and sure enough it was normal so she traded. So overall a good place but I think the service could use work. A retired coworker goes there every other Wednesday and I started meeting him occasionally. Service is better for regulars. It's just that I wish the service was great for everyone. Not just the regulars. One final things to point out is that I've been going here for years and the quality of the food has deteriorated a bit . I would tell people to go here to get the best burger ever, and now it's a little better then just ok. And the wings are not good. I still go there every two weeks or so to see my coworker, just wish it were like the old Lewis's."
