"Pulled in for my usual passing thru on I 12 stop only to discover a weird fluke..Zea's next door is closed on Tuesdays?? Hungry so looked for something good nearby. Saw Raking Thai tucked next to Johnny's burgers and as I love the flavors of Thai, decided to give it a try as the ratings looked good. I definitely like that you have the option for vegetables instead of meat in your Curry or other dish. And it was a nice selection of vegetables to do! : the flavor was goodhowever I have panang curry which was supposed to be spicy and wasn't. : also the curry and the chicken and rice soup that came with it both had a sweet taste. They should be Savory not sweet so they no doubt have added sugar because noneof the ingredients are sweet in and of themselves. That was pretty disappointing. Downside, it says on goggle maps they are open until 230pm, but they turned the open sign off at 12:15pm, so planning a stop here intentionally could be anepic fail as the posted hours aren't accurate apparently."

Outstanding, family run establishment. Bobby is the only person on the floor and he provides excellent service. His mom is in the kitchen dishing out wonderful Thai food. Great lunch specials come with an amazing soup and dumplings. I really enjoy their tofu and fried rice. My favorite Thai restaurant on the Northshore. A+

If this pineapple fried rice isn?t the most beautiful thing you?ve seen, than you?re going to love the taste of it even more. I got the cashew tofu and it was delicious, we all shared some of our dishes to try and it was SO GOOD. Live in Baton Rouge, would drive to Covington just to get some more!! Come visit if you haven?t, thanks for the best experience Bobby!

So Justin I have been looking for a great Thai place and it looks like we found it!! I ordered to go and order the combination pad thai, wings and garlic chicken. Everything tasted fresh and the bachoy in the garlic chicken was excellent! Very flavorful and I also need to mention that the interior of the restaurant is beautiful! The chicken wings were so good Justin ate them all except for one for me to try! So happy we gave Rakong a try, we were very impressed! View menu

This was the best Thai food my wife and I have ever had, especially the chicken pad Thai! We do not know how they make it but all the textures are perfect from the noodles to the extremely creamy peanut sauce. The service is also fantastic! It is a small restaurant where Mom cooks in the back with help from the Dad and the son waits tables. I highly recommend giving them a try! You will not be disappointed! Among many Thai restaurants on the North Shore, Rakong is in a class by itself. The food is fresh, delicious, and consistent. The service is perfectly friendly and not intrusive. The atmosphere is simple and elegant yet laid back and comfortable. My favorite is the Panang Curry, which has big chunks of avocado and bell peppers in a velvety coconut milk based sauce. I love that I can get either steamed or fried tofu as my protein, too. Both are perfectly prepared.
