"Every time I visit Austin, this is the one place I always make a stop at, specifically for their tsukemen. As other reviewers have noted, the dipping broth has changed. It's still good, but it didn't inspire the same level of excitement or joy as it used to with that first bite. I understand that the owners may have their reasons for making this change, but unless they revert to the original recipe, I might not return. The new broth has a smokier flavor, reminiscent of brisket soy, almost like a rich beef hot and sour soup. Unfortunately, it lacks the special dimension that I cherished for many years. I eat with my eyes: seeing the sliced char siu and bamboo shoots floating in the dark broth makes me feel like they are trying to cover something up. Perhaps there were complaints about the char siu being too dry, and this is their attempt to address that? The noodles appeared a bit sparse with just the nori, lime wedge, and ajitama on the side. I apologize for being so candid, but this is the disappointing reality of the once-beloved tsukemen. The noodles and ajitama were fantastic; my main issue lies with the broth, which is something you really can’t find anywhere else in Texas."

First time. Had the #4. It's good but not a wow experience. Not enough noodles.. warm not hot. Small place. Service is ok. You have to order first and then sit. Atmosphere is ok.Food: 3/5

Wow, this ramen is absolutely incredible! We've traveled across the United States, and Texas is our 11th state. We've tried ramen in every state, and I can confidently say this is the best ramen we've ever had. View menu

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish! The ramen was excellent and very accommodating for vegetarians. The rich broth combined with fresh vegetables and chewy noodles created a wonderful sensory experience. Food: 5/5

A solid ramen spot. The quality of food is fantastic. The flavours are bold and rich. Make sure you make a reservation beforehand, there is always a big line. They have added a rusty feeling to the ambience, which gives the place a different vibe than other ramen spots.Food: 5/5

So much hype about this Ramen place. Naah! For the price and everything, they dont greet customers well. Some kind of music is always being played at high volume, that has no bass and only treble makes it even more irritating. Hardly any ramen in the bowl, just salty soup, I felt the Marufuku Ramen is way much better than Tatsu Ya.Food: 3/5 View menu

It was my first time trying Tatsu-ya Ramen, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. While I've had ramen in Singapore before, the experience there didn't compare favorably to the one I had here. The service is minimal, but self-serve water is readily available. The ambiance is decent. The food arrives promptly; we waited no more than 5 minutes! We ordered the OG and the Mi-So-Hot. The flavors are delightful, particularly the soup. However, I found the noodles a bit firm. Next time, I plan to request them to be cooked a bit longer.Overall, I would rate this place 4 stars, and I'm definitely looking forward to returning for more.

I visited this restaurant for my birthday in May 2023, and it was fantastic! We absolutely loved everything we ordered. I wore my favorite traditional Japanese print birthday shirt from UNIQLO. We tried the TSUKEMEN (no egg), ordered two portions of GYOZA, the MUNCHIE KATSU SLIDERS, and two servings of KARAAGE. The kids ordered a few different Ramen dishes, but I can't recall which ones—they enjoyed them immensely. I also had a Mexican Coke, which was a nice touch. The prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere felt a bit stuffy due to the Texas heat, and people seemed to eat quickly and leave; we followed suit. I highly recommend this place to all my fellow ramen lovers—I can't wait to ret...
