"Stopped in for breakfast passing through on a cross country road trip. Food was really good. Had that home cooked taste that we love. Great value with most plates at or less than $10. Large portions. Kids had hotcakes with hot cocoa, adults had the classic breakfast plates with grits, toast, and coffee. All were pleased with the meal. Kids LOVED the cocoa and they're little connoisseurs. Our waitress was very nice, warm and friendly. Another was a bit less keen to make eye contact when approaching our table, and didn't smile very much... seemed a little cold. The hostess we checked out with was very friendly as well. The establishment is Blue Lives friendly. Patrons seem to know one another and you can tell it's a small community where everyone knows everyone. Dining area is clean. Ample parking. Ranch decor. Bathrooms are clean. Sit where you want. Now the other guests... some of them stared at us throughout our meal. Several tables just gave longer than usual gazes. We just smiled in return and they'd look away... but no return smile. One table of elderly women in particular really locked in on us. We smiled and gestured hello but that didn't render a return either. Just more staring from them. So much so that I had to look up the ethnic population in the city and discovered there's only a roughly 6% population of African Americans. So maybe they just hadn't seen any in a while? It was a bit odd, but driving through certain parts of the country it can be expected, I guess. A little off putting during the meal but I can't fault the Ranch House for that. Other than the odd staring, we had a very nice breakfast and would actually come back if we were passing through town again."

A road food restaurant. Great service, down home cooking, and a local clientele. I had the grilled pork chop. Dang that was good. Glad we found this place on Yelp. Better than any chain food experience.

Wonderful food. Very family friendly. Excellent coffee, terrific pancake, fantastic biscuits. Omelet was great plenty of vegetables and cheese. My husband had eggs and sausage that were cooked perfectly. Ample parking and seating.

This was a random stop on our road trip back to Louisiana and while the place looks like it needs some outside updates, the food was excellent I had BLT and homemade onion rings. My hubby had chicken fried steak with fried okra. Service was excellent.

The waitress didn't even know what in the omelette on the menu. Our food sat in the pass/pickup window wh our waitress getting her other table drinks, so food was cold by the time we started eating. Was in the area and good reviews; however, will find somewhere else. Disappointed! View menu

Don't judge a book by its cover! I almost didn't want to go in because the outside doesn't look too appealing. Glad my husband and daughter decided otherwise. The inside is clean and the food tastes fresh and delicious! My grandson ordered the four piece chicken tenders and it was more like four huge chicken breasts! He said it was soooo good and now has leftovers for the rest of our trip, lol.

The Ranch House is a quaint cafe with potential; however, it does NOT live up to the 4.3 Yelp rating. 1 STAR: Biscuits Gravy The biscuits were burnt on the bottom and the gravy was flour paste with absolutely NO FLAVOR. Basically POOR FILLER FOOD, but you have to be hungry enough to eat it. 2.5 STARS: Coffee was fair, tasty, hot. 2 STARS: The Cheese Burger patty was hand pressed and generous in portion, however, it LACKED the savory qualities of a good juicy beef patty. The bun was not grilled nor toasted, the hamburger had no secret sauce, just a bare skim of mayo and a bare skim of mustard.
