"They are currently closed, but when you would order your meal at Rodney's Shack, he would serve it to you next door at the saloon or in another area of his shack that features several long family-style tables covered with plastic tablecloths. This dining area may not look like it has been inspected by the health department in years, but it had a lot of charm, and the food isn't actually prepared there. Rodney himself is a true gem—a kind and gentle soul who was a delight to talk to. If the dining area makes you uneasy, there are a couple of outdoor tables, and Railroad Park is just across the street. My meal came on a paper plate, and it was outstanding—fresh in every way, affordable, and made with great care."

It’s nothing particularly outstanding, but the prices are reasonable. Please note that they do not accept card payments.

I think it's mainly Rodney running things here, and he's very friendly. It's a charming little place that makes you feel right at home.

Rodney's has much Tastier and Fresh burgers, than any place, in Willcox, Az.! (Including: Fish, Shrimp, Steak, Vegetables, Much more! Be guaranteed, that, Rodney is Always a gentleman. (Burger King costs more, and has less wholesome food. And, no ambiance. View menu

I dined there again yesterday and had the fish creole. You get three generous pieces of fish, along with rice, beans, green beans, and tomatoes. The herb and spice blend he makes is absolutely delicious. Plus, he's a really nice guy. He cooks the catfish to just the right level, and the coating is very light. It's the only place I eat in Willcox.

The food was good but it was clear that it was the end of the day. Our beans were burnt with little burnt bits from the bottom of the pot and our rice was half crunchy and half mushy. The green beans tasted as if they were canned but had some decent seasoning on them. The thing that saved it from a 2 Star was the fish with the creole sauce. It had good flavor and the fish was cooked well.

This place is really a gem. So glad we stumbled upon it! Prices were pretty low, food was awesome! The bbq was delicious, the gumbo was amazing! My daughter got the catfish and cleaned her plate. The atmosphere is a little off-beat.. but not bad... It feels a lot like having a picnic in a friends back yard. We had some bees harass us for our sodas, but it was a really great meal. My family of 5 ate large meals all for under $40 View menu

CLOSED DOWN I had the pleasure of experiencing Rodney's cooking while attending the Rex Allen Days, which featured the gun show, rodeo, and The Wild Bunch Film Festival. It's disheartening to see a vacant lot where the restaurant used to be, as it has officially closed its doors. I always looked forward to stopping by and chatting with Rodney, who was a beloved figure in the community and full of knowledge. I truly miss his unique cooking style and delicious food. This was one of those charming little spots you had to visit at least once and appreciate for what it was. I'm certain he will be greatly missed.

If you've ever used the term "hole-in-the-wall" to describe a restaurant, bar, or business, you'll truly understand its meaning after dining at Rodney's. When we stopped by to try his famous catfish and Cajun cuisine, we met Rodney himself, who was kind enough to give us a tour of his cozy 250-square-meter establishment. We chose to sit in the backyard, where we enjoyed our meal beneath the shade of trees—an inviting refuge from the heat of the city. Rodney has carved out a unique niche by serving delicious dishes from his home state of Louisiana. Where else can you find gumbo that tastes like it came straight from your mother's kitchen?
