"We had an awesome experience when we dined in on Thanksgiving day but last night was not fun. It started with our server who doesn’t know how to smile. It’s Christmas day and it could be a busy day at the restaurant but a little smile could bring a lot of holiday cheers to our family. We ordered calamari for appetizer and it was burnt, so we cancelled it. We waited for our server to bring bread to our table but I think we would be waiting for hours if we didn’t follow up. She brought the forks, knives, and napkins one at a time. The main dish tasted great but our server did not even check on us. Our table was not bussed prior to bringing the main dish and no drinks were refilled. We went on with our dinner then came the dessert part. Server came and asked if we need anything else. My husband asked me and before I finished my order, she started walking away. I said “canoli, pls” out loud because she was already behind me walking towards the other tables. We waited for good 15 minutes before my husband decided to go to the hostesses’s area to cancel the canoli, get the check, and ask for to go boxes. She was obviously having trouble of some sort because the manager came to one of her tables to apologize for something. We did not get any explanation or apologies about the delays and insufficient service we received. Finally, the server came to our table. She caught the charges on canoli and calamari (thankfully) so she changed and reprinted the check in front of us. She walked away without any explanation, apologies, or greetings. We would probably not come back here anymore."

The food was good, but the service left much to be desired. The waiter was not very attentive, and my wine was served in a water glass, which discouraged me from ordering another. Additionally, the complimentary bread didn’t arrive until our meals did, while other tables had received their bread much earlier. I would have liked another glass of wine, but I was put off by the glass it was served in, and I worried that it would arrive only after I finished my meal. It’s been a while since I visited a Macaroni Grill, but I remember when we used to serve ourselves wine and track our consumption at the table; I really miss that experience. Because of this, I don’t plan on returning.

SERVICE: The service was excellent. Server was friendly helpful for our party of seven. AMBIANCE: Paper table covers weren't my thing, but our niece enjoyed the crayons. And, the server used it to write dishes on. ORDERING: Mushroom ravioli was tasty but looked like an appetizer tiny serving and plain, no topping or garnish. Also, I ordered extra carmelized onions and got none on my plate. I actually wanted the tortellacci. but was told they had run out, which was surprising since we were there at 11:00am when they opened.
