"For our second visit, the host and staff cordially seated us in the dining room, attended to us promptly and afforded us a personal visit from the friendly owner. We had read that alcoholic beverages are now being served, a wonderful and anticipated change from our first visit. Bottled water with a basket of pita and chopped marinated red pepper were offered as a complimentary starter while we reviewed the options for our meals. The menu is extensive and the portions are ample. For an appetizer, my wife I enjoyed authentic falafel with humus and arugula accompanied with a sour cream topping. Unlike what we’ve eaten in other restaurants that serve this delicacy, our appetizer was savory, nicely presented and tasted better than any we’ve had in the Capital District. For our main dishes, my wife, a vegetarian, had the eggplant salad platter with baby baked potatoes, cherry tomatoes, ample cheese topping and a sizable green salad. My dinner meal was the branzino filets, delicately and artfully arranged mashed potatoes and a green salad. Both meals were served on large plates and very hot. Neither plate had any leftovers! Completing our meal were a serving of pistachio baklava and a pot of decaffeinated rooibos tea. The ambiance and excellent service by Sean made for an extremely favorable impression on us during this follow up visit. Needless to say, we highly recommend this restaurant, and we’ll be back!"

"We have been there multiple times and always had excellent service until friday night. our waiter colin or collins was terrible. no personality and apparently two ladies came in who must be something with the community as this waiter and two others made conversation with them. He kept asking them if they needed anything. We are paying customers as well and everyone should be treated the same. its a higher class place and for the money we are paying for our food we should have had more respect. our waiter we had to tell him we were ready to order. he never came to ask how our dinner was and never asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. he should not be working there. He was rude to my friend as he said something and she asked him to repeat himself as she didnt know if he was talking to us and he rudely told her he was talking to the ladies behind us. they totally got his attention and he was the worse waiter we ever had. we never had anyone so rude as him. The food was good as always but not sure we want to go back with how disrespectful and rude he was. afraid of getting him as a waiter again. also a tip is for exceptional service. He got squat because he was not worthy he needs people skills. i would only recommend The Standard due to the exceptional waiters and waitresses in the past times and the food is fantastic. Since we had an awful experience. if this was my first time i wouldnt go back. Since ive been before I will try one more time but we shall see"

"I really should just write a review and copy it every time we eat at MezzaNotte, because it is always the same absolutely perfect from start to finish. We only get to Albany a few times a year, on our way to Vermont or Montreal, but a reservation at this restaurant is a must. I won't go into a description of what my husband and I ate, because we have favorites that we always order, time after time, and they never disappoint. (See my other reviews of this place. Our server, Madelina, was so professional and efficient, as well as super friendly and helpful, making the evening even more special. Two things that also stand out are that the restaurant is never exceedingly loud; we are always able to have a conversation without being drowned out by too much noise. And they never rush us through the meal. We stay and enjoy our wine and coffee and are never made to feel that we're taking too much time. It is incredibly pleasant to spend a few hours here."

"Wonderful fresh veggies and warm entrees at the salad bar. Would consider that for a lunch or even a dinner meal in the future. Meats galore served by gauchos...loved the picanha cuts and the med. rare beef cuts, and even the lamb (that I like). Didn't try the bacon wrapped chicken, but my son did and said it was delicious. Our daughter-in-law who is Thai, prefers pork dishes but also enjoyed many of the meats, especially the prime short-rib beef. Along with some meats, my wife enjoyed several of the veggie salads and cold asparagus with sauce. Our son wife had gave us a TdB gift certificate, so we took them with us for a special treat on their 3rd Anniversary. . A little more pricey than we usually go out for, but overall great food and service. First time for all of us!"

"One of the top 5 restaurants ever that I had the honor privilege to experience, in my entire Life— and my dining reservation album includes rare venerable gems of culinary collusions from all over the globe. This was my 2nd time here for supper, and every facet was exquisite— just like time #1 … the quality presentation of the food, the atmosphere, the service … impeccable, charming, comforting. Truly caring, attentive, prompt staff. Also, the entire place is super clean, immaculate— even the bathroom. For the menu: amazing variety and quality across the board, consistent (which is impressive considering the large list), as I had the chance to sample over a dozen dishes appetizers since I shared meals with friends each time I visited. And, multiple vegetarian options."
