"My wife and I come here every time we visit Richmond, and for years I’ve been telling everyone this was the most authentic Thai food I’ve had outside of living in Bangkok. That was until this past weekend when we went back. The atmosphere inside was much different and not the same bamboo covered walls we remembered. They sat is right by the door which was no problem, however the door slams extremely loud anytime someone comes in and when it happens ever 30 seconds it really threw off the vibe. The som tum and egg rolls were fantastic as always. When we ordered the Panang curry, it looked great but upon our first bite we realized it tasted like they mixed peanut butter in the dish. This dish is not even supposed to have peanuts. The Khao soi was okay but way too many noodles any not enough broth. We will probably give this place another shot whenever we are back but we were pretty disappointed with this visit which is a shame."

Only had cocktails here but they were fantastic. Especially recommend the “Can we kick it?” cocktail. Mai Tais are also good. Parking is limited but not a problem.

Awesome thai food served here. We had pork skewer, papaya salad, curry and pad thai. They were very generously portioned tasty. The salad is a little spicy. Watch out! ;

The lettuce wraps were very oily. So much so that we couldn 't finish them but the flavor was nice. The drinks were amazing. I don 't usually go for gin but the Thai '75 was very good View menu

I love the decor and vibe of this Thai restaurant. I loved all the plants! The hanging benches were unique, but a bit precarious. The food was yummy, as well. The portions were HUGE! Each entree were at least enough for two people, if not three. Lots of leftovers, which isn?t a bad thing.

One of the best places I?ve eaten in Richmond, VA. If you haven?t been it is a must try. The service every time I?ve been there is incredible. The food is picture perfect, shareable portions, and absolutely delicious. If you love Thai food or wanting to try something new. This place has it. Bonus. Specialty cocktail list is amazing as well.

We had a large reservation of a bunch of crazy people. The birthday girl was super late to her own party, we had no idea of the amount of people that would show up, but Jay and Marissa still handled everything with no issues and made sure we all felt comfortable and welcomed. The whole staff was so amazing and helpful! Obviously amazing food and drinks. View menu

Update 4 years later: We still love this place and its in our top 5 places to go. They have updated the food and drinks menu and there are some amazing cocktails and appetizers. The bartenders are true artists and it shows! Last time we went, the garage doors were open, and it was a great atmosphere. I don 't think I 've ever had a bad experience here. Pictured is the Cocohito and boulevard bird cocktail, and marinated beef (forgot the name) Previous review: Always amazing. I recommend the coconut soup and the pork skewers, also the what lurks beneath cocktail

Having been to a few Thai restaurants in Richmond, Sabai is my favorite so far! Everything I've tried has been delicious. Good portions and low prices (except for appetizers, which have entrée prices). My go-tos are the drunken noodles (pad kee mao) and basil fried rice (kao pad ki maew). The sauces that come with the appetizers are also pretty exceptional (we mentioned this to the waitress and she gave us free extras to take home :D). I appreciate that they're open later than other Thai places. The only con I'd say is service can be slow sometimes. The restaurant itself is dimly lit by candles and has an industrial vibe, with garage door walls and all the furniture looks custom-built from r...

"I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I have to say I was very disappointed in my dining experience at Adarra. It’s difficult to get a reservation there, so once I was able to, I had extremely high expectations. The drinks were excellent, so no complaints there. The food, however, was not. We ordered the toasted almonds, peppers, cheese plate, tuna belly, anchovy dish, tomato salad, and gnocchi. The almonds and peppers were good, although I have to say they were on the simpler side. The tuna belly made me think I was eating quality tuna from a can soaked in olive oil. That’s the best way I can describe it. It was a bit tough and on the dry side, and I didn’t finish it. I don’t usually eat anchovies since I’m not a fan of the typical fishy taste, but was assured that their version wasn’t fishy at all the way they prepare it. I ate a piece or two but couldn’t finish it. Soaking the anchovies in olive oil did not hide the fishy taste. Some people may like that fishy taste, but I definitely didn’t. The cheese plate was okay. The crackers weren’t anything special, and the amount of cheese was pretty minuscule. The tomato salad was actually the only thing I ordered that was delicious, and the only thing we actually finished. After being at the restaurant for almost two hours, the gnocchi had still not come out. We told our waitress we didn’t want it and decided to leave. I heard so many great things about Adarra and had such high hopes. But after such a disappointing meal that we paid over $200 for, we will not be returning."
