Friendly staff, love that they have regular and seasonal flavors, a lot of the ingredients are sourced locally.

It's such a tiny thing, but being able to sample again is so cool! The servers are so knowledgeable and kind, and extremely patient. I was a little overwhelmed, but it was lovely.

The ice cream parlor is cute and artsy. It's located in the fun and vibrant Alphabet District. The staff are friendly as they welcome you in and allow you to try different flavors. The ice cream was a bit gummy and chewy, but maybe some people prefer that over smooth and creamy. Loved the brownie and sea salt and caramel flavors! I've tried Salt Straw in Cali before and remember it being good. So when I saw they had a location in Portland, I wanted to have my husband try it too since he loves ice cream. We popped in on a Sunday at around noon. We shared a cup of roasted strawberry white chocolate with sprinkles. This was a little too sweet for me. They were also skimpy on the sprinkles. The menu was intimidating at first, but I went for the non-traditional flavors and I am so glad I did! Pear Blue Cheese was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The strawberry balsamic was so surprisingly delicious, sweet tart and creamy. The staff was super helpful and was patient with our large party and all of our questions and requests for tastings even on a busy Saturday night.
