"Simple yet delicious, and very reasonably priced with multiple portion options. Consider splitting the large with someone for optimal cost cutting. Medium is almost too much food for a single, gluttonous eater. I usually avoid buying sandwiches because they are so easy to make at home, but Sam's offers eclectic Italian deli meat options (see #12 sandwich) that are psychologically addicting. I can't stop coming back. Banana peppers, extra mayo, and salty dry meat is a combination that has me breaking my own financial rules. Gah! I want one right now... Plus I like the name of their business."

Lunch time special does the job every time. Great for a quick sandwich on the way to the beach for lunch.

The sandwiches they prepare there are delicious, and the family that runs the place is incredibly friendly.

Great sandwich for a good price. Lunch special includes drink and chips. They have ipa beer on tap here for only 2.50! View menu

Great local sandwich joint. Quick, tasty and inexpensive. Not the cleanest or modern place around but good classic sandwiches. Nice staff too.

The team is fantastic—always helpful and prompt. The sandwiches are delicious and generous in size, so a small option will likely be more than enough. The ingredients are fresh, and they prepare the sandwiches right in front of you.

I've been to Sam's To Go twice now, and I ordered the pastrami and the Italian #13 sandwiches. The medium-sized sandwiches are quite generous—enough for two people! The meats and condiments are fresh and flavorful. It's a small, local business that could use a bit of cleaning and a fresh coat of paint inside. They offer a huge selection of both hot and cold sandwiches. I definitely think it's worth a visit; their delicious subs might just earn your loyalty! View menu

"It is extremely rare that I write a review without actually visiting in person. My sister somehow got my hooked on this small, local sandwich chain. I had seen its various locations (Isla Vista, Santa Barbara 's Mesa and Goleta) and always wanted to check it out; yet leave it to my sister from out of town to introduce me to it. Twice she has ordered take-out sandwiches at lunch time for us. Their sandwich menu is nutso with 36 creations to choose from, including several that are vegetarian. Of course, the options are endless if you choose to build you own! I went with the #14 (a turkey BLT) and #2 (turkey and cheese) which are simply basic yet tasty. I have no idea what they do to their bread but is addicting. Slight crunch on the outside, yet soft to the squeeze and full of gummy flour flavor! All of the ingredients appear fresh and nothing special--which I appreciate when I want a deli sandwich. I love the fact that you can purchase your sandwich in a variety of sizes including a mini for if you need a snack to hold you over and not a full meal. I also think of children, those who are on a lower carb diet, who have had bariatric surgery, or are limiting portion sizes. I personally go for a small sandwich. However, if you want to go all out, choose the medium or family size. Even better, if you 're hosting a party, order a three to ten foot long sandwich (requires a day 's notice). I will be back to check out the actual place--third time 's a charm they say. I 've heard both their chicken salad and tuna salad are both delicious. That 's next up! P/S: According to Yelpers, they do not accept the Check-In Offer for a free soda with a sandwich purchase. They should really remove this from their Yelp page... Note: Only the Milpas location offers chicken sandwiches, burgers, french fries and chicken nuggets. Note squared: They charge more for credit card payments. Note cubed: If you want free entertainment, check out their Milpas website menus with adorable, phonetically spelled items. (gient vs giant, meetball vs meatball, and phylly vs philly)."
