"We arrived on a cruise and were eager to try some local halibut fish and chips. A long-time local recommended the Sandbar instead of the typical tourist spots near the cruise docks. They warned us it was more of a dive bar, but that was precisely the kind of experience we wanted. The service was great, and the halibut was outstanding. The beer battered chicken strips are tasty, well seasoned and battered. Batter is so delicious and crispy. I recommend and say try it.

Did not feel very welcoming to outsiders. The food took way to long to arrive and by then was cold. The bartender was pretty friendly but that's the only positive from this visit.

Advertised to open till 11pm. Was told the kitchen is closed at 10 because they couldn't cook no more sandwiches. We asked a simpler request. Not sandwiches but I wanted fried mushrooms and Zucchini. Easy cook

The food here was seriously good. The fish and chips were dank and the sandwiches delicious. Pretty typical bar atmosphere but the drinks were reasonably priced and the patrons and staff friendly. 9/10 recommend.

What a great spot while visiting Juneau. Our tour guide dropped us off here. While it's not any of the fancy tourist places. This is where the locals go for great fish and chips and great beer. The GM Captain Marvel (ex coast guard) will treat you right.

Definitely a long standing place! Atmosphere is old town bar/restaurant. But……the food is Awesome! Best we have had all week in Juneau! The halibut is phenomenal!! Had burgers that put everyone else to shame. Highly recommend! We are from Michigan and we love our beef! Was very surprised by this place!
