"Such a disappointing experience compared to the wonderful Prescott location of sister restaurant Colt. This one is a serve yourself, basic kind of place. No table service, order at the counter, pick up at the counter, get your own drinks etc. Now, there is nothing at all wrong with all of that if the prices reflect this absence of service...but they don't. Staff attitude is what you would expect from counter service. No smiles, nothing friendly, nothing helpful. In fact I got directed to a lemonade dispenser when i had inquired about water, then got barked at for using the lemonade dispenser. I ordered a large Cobb Salad. No egg and no avocado. Spinach was indeed very fresh, but still had the tails attached which many people would object to (fine by me though). It had the very cheapest Sysco dressing, basically flavored water. Good blue cheese bits, good bacon bits, that's about all I can say. They have a smoker on site and that typically makes for good smoked meat, but I didn't try any. Given the stiff competition just a few doors down the street, there is no reason to eat here."

"We went here for lunch on Saturday while traveling to Sedona. After 2 days of not being able to find a decent restaurant in Sedona we decided to go back to the wonderful place we had lunch th day before in Cottonwood! This place is awesome, from the really pleasant staff, great drinks and cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious, Duck and Filet were cooked perfectly. Our friend had the salmon tacos and he said it was the best meal he has ever had on a vacation. Thank you to Sierra and the bartender and cook for making us feel so welcome! We appreciate you all! We will be making this our go to place when we bring company from back east."

"Hubby and I are visiting the area for a week in our RV and are exploring Cottonwood today. We just had lunch at Red Rooster Cafe and, oh em gee, it was DELICIOUS! Hubby had the Chicken and Goat Cheese sandwich and I had the Black Bean Burger. Both were amazingly tasty and fresh. Service is great and the ambiance inside and out on the patio is casually comfortable. We WILL be eating here again...and again... before we leave. Highly recommend Red Rooster Cafe!"

"This area was a late dinner stop on our seniors bus tour. We checked out several places on our walkabout looking for the one . We chose the Tavern Grill because it was the only place offering a beer, wine, and liquor menu where other stops had only wine or only beer. We are so glad we did. The atmosphere is fun and interesting (reclaimed old theater), the service was good even though they were super busy, and the food was great. Each of the 6 people at our table ordered something different and everyone was pleased with their meal. I had my first prickly pear margaritas. Yum."
