"This BBQ restaurant has a charming rustic atmosphere, with picnic benches outside for enjoying good weather. The interior is decorated with beautiful antique Texas motifs and lodge-like furnishings. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the two meat plate with cut brisket and smoked turkey, both of which were high quality. For sides, I had corn, pommes, and potatoes. I also had a sweet tea to drink. Although I wanted to try the BlackBerry Cobbler for dessert, they were unfortunately out of ice. The total cost of my meal was $36.07, a bit more than I had anticipated. The two meat plate alone was $23, with the additional cost coming from the drink and dessert. It may be worth opting for water and skipping dessert next time, especially given the missing ice. While there are other BBQ joints in the area that surpass this one, it is still a step above chains like Dickey's."

The burnt tips bbq was exceptional ! The catfish was large and delicious and the bread was perfect with garlic and salt. Our waitress Lexi was very attentive and friendly! We loved our dinner so much we bought 2 gift cards for Christmas.

The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and a good meal overall. Unfortunately, the Brisket was a bit underwhelming. It looked promising, but the taste didn't live up to expectations. Despite this, the sauces, Texas beans, and fried Okra were all tasty. I would consider going back, but it would not be my first choice for a special occasion.

Grain of salt; BBQ on a Monday is not common. The menu is not just BBQ but has a blend of BBQ and burgers. I had the 2 meat plate as brisket and sausage with fries and corn. The brisket was a mix of dry and juicy. The juicy was fork tender and had great bark. The dry was right at the border of crumbly but not. The sausage was okay but a little greasy. On a Friday night just before the dinner rush, I dined with my two nieces visiting from Florida at this restaurant. We were lucky to get a great table on the terrace. The food, drinks, and service were all superb. One of my nieces even said that the BBQ chicken she ordered was the best she ever had. There was a band playing, three musicians on stools, adding to the lively atmosphere. It was our first night out since the pandemic, and it felt great to be back in the swing of things. The band even interacted with the patrons, playing some country music. The weather was perfect, and overall we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We have never had a bad experience at Shady Oaks. Until last night. Party of 4, we were seated in near bar. I. guess the bartender had to do double duty, she was not a friendly server, it was not busy in this area, she had no more than 2 tables of r people at one time while we were there, never offered refill on anything but water, we all had sodas or margaritas. Food came out with hot sides, cool meat. the brisket was the driest I've ever had there. Between the unfriendly server and brisket, I was horribly sad. we brought out-of-town friends here. We told them it's the best around. We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday night. it was not busy at all. very disappointing, to say the least.
