THE MAN WAS TALKING ABOUT SOMEONE, THE IDENTITY OF WHOM I SOUGHT TO UNCOVER AS THE CONVERSATION WENT ON. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT HE SPOKE OF HIS DOG, BUT CERTAIN STATEMENTS MADE LESS SENSE AS HE REFERRED TO THIS PERSON 'S 'FRIENDS ' AND THIS PERSON BEING 'ANGRY ' WHEN PEOPLE ARE OVER. BUT THEN ANOTHER TIME HE MENTIONED THIS PERSON 'LAYING HIS HEAD ON YOU AND DROOLING, ' MUCH LIKE A DOG WOULD DO. OR PERHAPS A BABY? I NEVER DID ASCERTAIN THE PRECISE IDENTITY OF THIS MYSTERY PERSON ANIMAL BEING. THE TONE OF THE CONVERSATION WAS EQUAL PARTS EARNEST AND DESPERATE, AND AS SUCH I DID NOT ASK TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONVERSATION AS IT SOUNDED EXTREMELY PRIVATE AND PERSONAL, AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN RUDE.<br <br THE BATHROOM HERE IS AN ENIGMA. TWO PHOTOS OF THE RAT PACK. THERE ARE TWO URINALS WITHIN INCHES OF EACH OTHER, BUT WITH NO BARRIER. THE ODD THING IS ONE PICTURE OF THE RAT PACK IS TO THE RIGHT AND BEHIND YOU AS YOU USE THE URINALS, SO IF YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT WHILST URINATING, YOU MUST CONTORT YOUR NECK AND TORSO TO THE RIGHT, RISKING A MISFIRE ONTO THE WALL, OR ONTO A FELLOW PATRON IF YOU ARE USING THE LEFTMOST OF THE TWO URINALS. I had been going to Shirley's for years, and this was the first time I've ever had a bad meal. The bacon inside of my omelet was very grisly. It ruined the omelet, and I fed it to my dog. View menu

My family ate here and tried the fish and chips, catfish, and a croissant sandwich. All of the food was very good. Unfortunately, it was also extremely greasy, much more so than equivalent dishes at other restaurants. The acoustics inside were good. Despite being busy, it wasn't noisy; I could hear the other people at my table with no problems.

Country style goodness. This restaurant is small with a great vibe of the years past. The food is American style, so expect meat and potatoes in one form or another. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and i was not disappointed. This is my comfort food to the max! We had a great server but I saw and heard a few duds on the staff. Our server was a younger girl with piercings and colored hair.

Service and atmosphere were good. There was a 20 minute wait, but it was communicated and we had no issue. We ordered biscuits and gravy and the honey butter fried chicken biscuit with hash browns. Both meals were extremely bland. It felt like the kitchen ran out of salt, pepper, and any other seasoning for the gravy, hash browns, and chicken breading. Tasty and Inexpensive. Its got that old school diner feel to it. Food comes out quick and great portion sizes and a small bill at the end. Service is great too, Really no complaints or even recommendations as this place should and can be able to hold its own for many years to come if they keep up what they are doing now. I would recommend this place to anyone and have already sent a few people their way.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town. The food was good and the prices even better. Our two kids shared a meal and it was more than enough for them. The biscuits are homemade and perfect. The omelets were a good size and had fresh ingredients (cut tomatoes, not from a can) and delicious. Staff were all extremely friendly and very attentive to the customers. It appears to be popular with the locals.
